This place has only been open for about 4 months as of Feb 2025. My hubby and I went here on a Wed before a show, and there were like 4 people in the bar. I was able to talk to the owners, who were fantastic. They have a dedicated gf fryer, and almost everything on the menu is or can be gf. Slower than expected food service, but the owner told us they were training new staff and had to remake my meal. The next time we were here was a Friday night, and there were a million college kids present. They still nailed the food, even if the bartenders were slower, possibly because they were busy doing shots with customers, lol. The tater tots are worth visiting (and are a huge portion) and even the hamburger buns tasted great (much better than the usual Udi fall apart versions). I would totally recommend this place.

Great food! Lively atmosphere! Owner tells us that only gluten free ingredients go into their fryer! They also use GF pasta. I had their Friday fish fry. Two nice sized pieces of fish (I think cod). The fish was really great, not greasy, just nice and crispy. I also had tots. Generous portions. You could have chips or fries as well. Love me some tots! They also had GF beer on tap and in cans from Alt brew. My husband is not GF. He had a burger and he really enjoyed that as well. It is definitely a college campus atmosphere, but clean and fun. We will be back!

Went here on a random Wednesday. The food was amazing and they really took care with my wife's celiac/gluten free. Nice to find some quality bar food where we can go just to grab drinks, throw some darts, and get food she can eat. We'll be back!

Turned off our dart board in the middle of our game at 1am, the guy just looked at us and shrugged. Their website said they closed at 2 but they started encouraging people to leave at 1. When we left we noticed they didn’t turn of another group’s dart board so like why’d they have to turn ours off 😭😭 also this business lovessss AI, there are photos of ai cats and dogs in the women’s bathroom & they use ai for insta promo. Edit: very unprofessional response from the owner, I tell you your employees were rude to us & turned our board off in the middle of the game and you say “bummer”?😭

Visited Madison for homecoming weekend and wanted to say I was so impressed with this new bar in town! I wanted to gather a potentially large group of women I went to college with and the owner ( also a Badger alum ) was more than accommodating and communicative! They have a large space upstairs to host up to 300 people! They appear to have a full calendar of fun events - and we saw they had karaoke one night as well !!! I will definitely keep them in mind for the future! Love Moon Bar !

Prices are pretty good considering its proximity to state street. I ordered boneless wings and a moscow mule. Wings were fine but greasy and with a very 'spent oil' aftertaste, but to their credit they seemed hand battered and fried. Mule was honestly the worst I've ever had, tasted like seltzer rather than ginger beer. The vibe inside is okay but very... milquetoast.
