Great molasses almond raisin granola, fair price too. I like it so much I have them ship 25 lb bags to my home 1000 miles away.

Best granola ever! Natural ingredients with lots of flavor and not overly sweet like so many big store brands. Can be used to make great granola bars too. We’re happy to support this worker owned business!

Over the years have tried the bread, granola and veggie burgers. All have been fantastic. The worker owners of the coop are also setting an example as a democratic workplace.

ONE OF THEIR DRIVERS REAR ENDED IN NATURE'S BAKERY CO-OP'S COMPANY VAN ME AND RAN. I called, my insurance called. Nature's Bakery Co-Op said "Since we dont know who was driving at the time, and noone will admit to hitting you. We wont pay for the damages."

Do not shop here, or do business with these people. They don't care about the Madison community...

My mom and I love the granola. Fantastic place. go there early and walk up the stairs to real world food.

The bread from here is impossible not to like. They use quality ingredients. Walking in is unique. You can see everything being made. No flashy cash register or counter top's, just really good food.
The Nature's Bakery Co-op on Willy St makes amazing veggie burgers (sold frozen), bread, pita bread, wheat free flat bread, buns, granola, calzones, and cookies- almost everything vegan! Everytime I go there they're incredibly nice and genuinely happy to have people come in! Their products are sold in many stores but are cheaper if purchased directly from their storefront. They're very good at special orders and are even open until 5:30 every weekday. I highly recommend stopping in to this quaint neighborhood bakery!

We've been a fan of their breads which are stocked at some local grocers so I was excited to drop into the storefront. Just follow the smell of fresh baked bread, go up a quick flight of stairs, and there is where all the magic happens! You get a pretty clear viewpoint of the just baked breads, the rising dough, and all of the steps that it takes to make a loaf of fresh bread. I was warmly greeted when I walked in and when they didn't have a ready loaf of the kind I was looking for I was generously offered a bread roll so that I could give that flavor (sunflower seed) a taste. It was warm, wonderfully chewy, and nutty. Cannot wait to come back for more of it. The price for a loaf is perhaps a bit more expensive ($4 for a large $3.25) than some of the mass produced store brands but a bit more affordable than loaves at other bakeries in the area. Overall, happy with the bread here as well as my experience with the folks at the Co-op and I'll certainly be back.

In operation for 50 years this is one of the longest running producers of natural baked goods in Madison if not the entire Midwest! Turn on the way back machine and think about hippies making bread - quick fast forward to today. The mainstay is small batch loaves made with organic wheat, my favorites are Cinnamon Raisin, Whole Wheat, and Light Oat. They also have other baked goods the best to me are Fruesli (European style date muesli) and the molasses granola. Show up early in the morning on a baking day and ask for bread "hot out of the oven", they will tell you it isn't ready -- but tell them you want it anyway - it is heavenly, on Tues/Thursday they have store returns at a great price, and finally it is take out only. Enjoy!
