Excellent menu, always get the Creole sauce on po boys! The hot things are nicely hot, and everything has good flavor! Pay little attention to the few negative attitude naysayer reviews, try it yourself.
Good food and better service in a very busy environment.
Red beans and rice/double sausage. Plenty of hot sauce. One of the best.
I cannot believe this place isn't connected to a delivery service. Sad.
Great food, cheap, friendly staff, great tunes too!
My favorite restaurant in Madison. I especially like the jambalaya and the shrimp poboy (with creole sauce).
Very tasty but buyer beware, the crawfish etouffee was super spicy. Great food though, this place definitely deserves its super high rating. Surprised to find something so spicy in Wisconsin; a welcome change of pace.
Really decent food in the tradition of New Orleans. Tried a number of menu items. We were satisfied.
I was visiting from Indiana and wanted to try a place we didn't have back home so I chose this place. The fried catfish and fried shrimp were both seasoned to perfection. The dirty rice was a little spicy, but still great and the cornbread was nice and moist. I would definitely visit this place again.
I admit I have a weakness for cajun food, so this might be biased. But this place is awesome. It's my go to for lunch. Want some comfort food? Try red beans and rice with cornbread. Want something with a kick? Try the shrimp etouffee (the menu warning doesn't lie, it is hot!) Everything is generously portioned for the price and the daily specials are all worth trying. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Located next to Mickey's Dairy Bar, we remarked waddling out of Mickey's that we out to add this to the list of experiences to take in while in Madison. We dived in and it didn't disappoint. The red beans and rice with sausage, full order, was legit and hard to stop eating. I should have gone for the half order and called it a day, but gluttony was on the menu and the plate ended up clean. The cornbread was a huge suprise, a tad on the sweet side, but moist and tender, perfect for sopping up the beans and rice. My companions order half orders of the fish special and raved about it. With a small eat-in space, it was a near perfect experience with good food, excellent people watching and and antidote to the ordinary.
Absolutely delicious and spicy New Orleans food. A personal favorite and my go to place on a cheat day.
Ambiance: Basically like an expanded food truck. Simple decor with a couple of New Orleans touches. You can see right into the kitchen and the menus are pieces of paper. They really maxed out the space in there with probably 10 spots to sit.
If you don't know what to try, just try it. Literally everything is fantastic. The biggest challenge you'll have is going back and wanting to get something new when your feeder hole is craving what you had the last time you went. Awesome place!
I tried the other location years ago and wasn't impressed. Now I feel like I need to make up for lost time. So delicious! The shrimp po'boy is great and the jambalaya and beans and rice are just solidly yummy food. I'll be back!
