5 stars all around! We had a wedding reception at Old Sugar Distillery’s rental room (the Rickhouse), and would definitely recommend. The staff Kate, Caleb, and Nathan were so helpful, accommodating, and kind. Kate and Caleb staffed the bar for the event and brought such a good vibe and energy to the night.
The rental price included beautiful tables and chairs, microphone, speaker, projector, adjustable lighting AND disco ball!
We had seating for 104, and there was still room for a three person band for happy hour, lots of room for dancing once we tucked a few tables away after dinner. Staff was responsive before during and after the event.
Last but not least the drinks are AMAZING. Tasty, strong, served in real glasses, unique, and very reasonably priced. Lots of compliments from all of our guests. Great N/A options as well.
Will host future events there, it is such a good deal!
Old Sugar Distillery was the perfect spot for our wedding rehearsal and welcome dinner! The space is absolutely beautiful—with high ceilings, stunning windows, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The drinks were amazing, especially love the Honey Cap!
The staff was so friendly and helpful, and Kate was especially wonderful to work with. She made the planning process so easy and completely stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend for any special event!
We had our wedding reception at Old Sugar and cannot recommend them enough! The staff was incredible and so accommodating and their signature cocktails were delicious! Highly recommend them for both events or just grabbing one of their cocktails at the bar!
This was a lovely party venue, the cash bar was great and the bartenders were wonderful. There was a live band which was almost too loud for the smaller space.
A wonderful little spot that's a bit hard to find.
Nathan has put together a solid business with a strong lineup.
The tasting room has a great vibe, but they also have an event venue available for rent!
Kate and Caleb were terrific hosts, and I was so glad to meet them and get to know a little more about another one of my customers.
I'm a scotch guy, and I LOVED the Queen Jennie sorghum whiskey.
Thank you so much for your hospitality and the opportunity to partner with such a great local business.
I wish you the best for years to come!
Loved the atmosphere and their dirty chai latte.
Brother Cody deserves a raise & a promotion, best man east of the Mississippi
Lovely atmosphere. Delicious drinks. Friendly staff. We had an excellent experience visiting Old Sugar. Bartenders Caleb and Jeremy were fantastic. We will def be back here on our next trip to Madison!
The smoked maple sour is awesome.

I probably don’t have enough space to write all of the nice words I want to say about Old Sugar. My husband Jake and I had our wedding reception in the event space this past weekend. From the jump, Nathan has been communicative, quick, fair, helpful and accommodating. All the staff working the event were incredible. Special shout out to Caleb for being a PEACH. Multitasking king, sweetie pie extraordinaire. Drinks were AMAZING. We are SO, SO glad we booked Old Sugar.
Gage was awesome Had a great time.will for sure come back .
Small batch distillery in a quiet area of Madison, Wisconsin. Made-from-scratch cocktails using their own spirits. Tasting flights and samples available.
We loved having our wedding here! The staff was super helpful during the planning and for the day of. We had guests from all over the country and everyone loved their drinks. It was a beautiful space and can comfortably accommodate up to 100 people for seating and a dance floor.
Went for the first time this past Saturday with a friend before the Forward Madison game. If people aren’t a fan of the brandy old fashioned, i HIGHLY recommend this place. Reasonable prices and a great option pre-soccer game if you want to steer away from the usual Vintage or LJ crowds. Definitely a repeat :)
