I drive an hour to Madison for this place alone. In addition to all their pre-made loaves and treats, they have tons of Wisconsin grown and milled flour, sourdough starter that they won't charge you for (bring your own container!), and consistently friendly employees. Can't recommend them enough! Try the Sprye loaf!!

Breads are of the highest quality, and very flavorful. The owner is always experimenting with different flavor profiles. Highly recommended.
I’d confidently say this is the best bread bakery in Madison. Their breads made with such craftsmanship that you can eat the bread without anything and it is delicious! Thank you team Origin Bread for spoiling us with such quality work and ingredients. So so good! The staff is so warm, welcoming and friendly. Love their products.

Got damn that’s a good pizza
Visiting family this past weekend and picked up a load of their whole wheat sourdough at the farmers market. Simply outstanding - don’t write many reviews but have to in this case. It’s really REALLY great bread!

Amazing pizzettas and Wednesday night pizza at Giant Jones'!! Also, sweet and passionate staff. <3
I tried out the Sourdough Croissant and the Everything Sourdough Bagels. The layers were very compact and dense--I mean, that was expected, yes, but I didn't think it'd feel so /heavy/. The sourdough tang was definitely present, so that was a very nice touch and helped it stand out among the various buttery, greasy, and indulgent croissants I'd tried out over the past couple of weeks. I'd say this croissant is a delicacy worth trying, but I don't think I'll be getting it again ($4.50 is a high price point). The bagels were very, very dense and tough for my taste. Again, they had very good sourdough flavor and tons of everything seasoning, but my jaw was definitely getting the workout of its lifetime every time I tried to eat one. I think the best way to prepare these would be to steam them which, I know, sounds abhorrent (I actually eat all bagels this way, but I digress), but if you don't want to strain your jaw, this is what I'd recommend.
Love this bakery! The sourdough pretzels with poppyseeds and Maldon sea salt are really exceptional (got one at DCFM). This time or year, there is a special joy when you are able to pair one of those pretzels with horseradish cheese curds, spicy mustard, crisp apples and sit back with a glass of beer or wine and take in the fall colors.
The pinnacle of Sourdough baking that I have found in the Midwest. Amazing! Great Job!
