I had no idea this place existed, but saw that they were hosting a valentines making card event. It was a dream! The host, Lola, is truly amazing and made everyone so at home. Everything you could have wanted was there: arts+crafts supplies, soft jazz music, coffee, wine, and baked goods. The baker even put together wonderful, custom chocolate boxes for the event. Creativity was encouraged and there was a friendly card making competition for anyone who wanted to win a fun prize.

It was the best night and experience that was friendly for both a group of friends or a significant other for a date night. I will definitely be at the next event!!!!

Ps. A great event if you are new to Madison or looking to make new friends, I went with a friend and left with a few more.

We usually LOVE Reverie, but unfortunately we had a poor customer service experience today. We walked in at 7:30 and ordered one coffee, one pastry, and one latte. The coffee and pastry came out right away. We waited patiently for the latte… 15 minutes went by… the whole time, the barista was visibly distracted as she was giggling and chatting with someone at the bar. We watched her stop the conversation to take a couple orders, then return to chatting at the bar. Finally after 20 minutes I gently asked if the latte we ordered was almost done. She fumbled for some tickets and found ours - it was obvious she didn’t even know the order was there, never thought to check that all her orders were done, and didn’t have the awareness to notice there may have been people waiting for an order. What usually is a quick and pleasant stop in turned into a frustrating wait that made us late for work. I hope this doesn’t happen again.

Very low-key neighborhood place. Absolutely delicious scones!. Once I had almond cherry made with almond flour so gluten-free and another time I had a rhubarb scone. Just slightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Great coffee. Really chill staff.

Visited Madison this week and happened to walk into Reverie, where I had their cheddar chive biscuit.

I am from the South, so I am loathe to admit it...but this was far and away the best biscuit I have ever had. Crispy on the bottom, tender and flavorful inside. Thick and generous cut. Ridiculously good. I should have bought a dozen and bribed the barista for the recipe.

My drink was good and the service was friendly. Google seems to expect this as part of my review. Honestly, you can get good drinks and kind service anywhere, but folks, you cannot get this biscuit just anywhere!

I am now seriously considering a multi-hour drive back to Wisconsin to reunite with the cheddar chive biscuit. This makes me question my sanity, but not for a moment does it make me question the biscuit. 10/10

Don’t plan on getting any friendly greeting from anyone working here. I walked in, tripped (my fault) but not one word from anyone but they sure saw it. No friendly hello, no acknowledgement either. Actually it was almost like I was interrupting them by standing at the counter waiting to order. I was excited to try a new coffee spot by my job and get away from chains like Starbucks or Dunkin…. As I paid, she set my drink down on the register and walked away… I said “Thank you” and got a fat ol YUP. Was it because I chose not to tip? We did not exchange any words so what was this attitude for? My only tip for anyone working there is to be more kind and friendly and then just maybe you would get a tip. They were not busy by any means so no excuse really as it only takes 1second to be nice! I will never return, waste of money forsure! The look on her face should say it all!

Best cafe and bakery in a neat space.
Easily the best scones in Madison.

Different baked goods every day, always great. Today they had macha cookies that we're absolutely packed with green tea flavor.

Best avocado toast in Madison!

I mean this as the utmost complement: this place is hipster central. It’s a simple cafe with an excellent interior. The coffee was great! Kin Kin’s roastery (a local roaster) is also located here. The baked goods are delicious. For lunch we got the Piper with ham - one on a biscuit and the other on a bun. Would definitely recommend the bun, as the biscuit can overpower the rest of the sammy. Ya, you should definitely check this place out.

BEST COFFEE EVER! I can't believe I've never went to Reverie despite living so close by. The coffee actually shocked me by how delicious it was. I also love their selection of baked goods and meals.
