Some of the best Thai food I've found in Madison. Great for take out and nice for eating-in but there is limited space.

Got here before they even opened and I was the first person walking in an ordering. After over 40 minutes waiting for my take-out I asked and they said “7 more min” all while most tables already had food and 3 people got their takeout. What a bad first impression. I left hungry and upset. Not a place I’d visit again…

I love this place! I mostly get take out and I always enjoy the food. When I've eaten here with friends, we enjoyed our time in the charming dining room.

Quaint atmosphere with lots of succulent plants in the window giving it a tropical feel. The Wonton soup was the highlight of the meal.

Vegans and Vegetarians beware: there are no true vegetarian entree options, even in the "vegetarian" section. They use chicken broth in everything, as was explained by the front desk. Always ask in East Asian places as this is quite common. They say vegetarian to cater to this increasing customer base, but the food is decidedly not vegetarian.

Vegetarian options: Even the options marked vegetarian have chicken broth. Vegetarians should not eat here.

Not welcoming or appreciative of our business! It was very hot and uncomfortable! All of us were brought warm water with a piece of lemon and many seeds in it when we sat down! I never ask for lemon in my water because people use their dirty fingers to put lemon in the water, and I don't want anyone's toxic germs! I ordered the combination platter which came with different food items than stated on the menu! I specifically ordered this entree to try a couple new items I've never had, but weren't even served! It's not good business to substitute items without telling the customer first, unless it's stated on the menu! This is not a place I would go back to!

Food was good. Nice variety of options. My only 2 issues was our water was tepid - the ice had melted before it got to us. And they don't take debit - cash only. Luckily we had enough cash.

Parking: Must park on the street. Free, but be aware.

By far the worst Thai food I have ever had. Thai food is supposed to be savory, and this is far too sweet. Additionally, the portion sizes are about half of what you would expect at a normal restaurant. Completely unacceptable. I’m glad I live 6 hours away so I never have to drive by this place again. Avoid at all costs.

Duck curry is best in Madison. Takeout times can be long but it's worth the wait

Overall, it’s ok. I had high hopes after reading all the amazing reviews for this place. One thing to note, this place is cash and check only. Don’t bring large bills because they didn’t have enough change to break a $100 when I was there.

Cash only!!

Sala Thai has a wonderful atmosphere in a very charming setting. There is free street parking in the area but no parking lot. You can seat yourself if dining in - the line to the register is for takeout.

We ordered the pad Thai and kraprow talay with a side of crab rangoons. The crab rangoons come with a sweet and sour sauce and were very good. The two entrees were very saucy and rich, with flavors that were a little overwhelming for my preference.

Parking: Free street parking on the street or side streets.
