Where to begin. Terrible food served cold and tasted bad. Not sure if entrees were spoiled but tasted funny. Service was inattentive and ridiculously slow. Maybe this is what passes for fine dining in this backwater, but overall this restaurant was stupidly overpriced and terrible.

Sardine is a beautiful space. But you're not going for that, are you? Expect to pay prices similar to those at Chicago restaurants. But you will not get much for your money: I thought the portion size of the omelettes was very small and the side of sausage links, though flavorful, was pink inside (I thought those might have been smoke rings, but that seems unlikely.) Anyway, I would go back, maybe for a drink or to sit outside when the weather permits. But I wouldn't be in a hurry.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Madison. The food never misses and the service is always fantastic. Whether brunch, lunch, dinner, or drinks at the bar, you’ll never be disappointed.

The atmosphere was nice, the food could of been better. Ordered a steak and honestly I've had better especially for the price I paid it was a bit disappointing. Service was slow, took forever to get the check and leave.

Absolutely amazing each time I go. The staff is wonderful. I was able to walk in while they were busy as could be and enjoy dining at the communal table this last time. Very nice if you're walking in the area or out with some girlfriends and decide to have a delectable dining experience during regular business hours. In case you're wondering, I didn't share food with people I didn't know, the table is what's shared it's actually an interesting experience to share a table with strangers and know it could fill up and you could be elbow to elbow with someone. There is a great view however, it would be amazing if the dining area was right off the lake, perhaps even two levels

Was kind of over priced and pretentious. Food was alright but I didn't see the hype for that big of a bill.

Started with oysters good & fresh. We ordered the Pan Raosted Skate Wing which was really good, Warm Duck Confit and Freisse also very good, and lastly we ordered the Wood Roasted Airline Chicken Breast which was very very dry & should not have been served. Our waitress was very nice venue is cute but very small space cramped seating.

Been coming here for many years. I feel like it used to be better. They keep changing things and for me, it's gotten less great. They got rid of a drink I loved and now refuse to make it, they used to have an amazing pastry chef, who at Christmas time, made an incredible buche de Noel and when I asked about it last year, they said they won't have it again. They also used to have the most incredible raspberry princess cake, which also disappeared several years ago. In terms of the main menu, there aren't many vegetarian options. And you have to be careful, even with seafood, becausse sometimes there are meat or heavy ingredients added. The service is generally very congenial but inconsistent. For example, their outdoor seating has always been first come, first served but last summer, they were only seating reservations outside, because, we were told, they "overbooked" the restaurant. So, despite many happy times spent here, there have been several recent disappointments as well. One note: I see some reviews that call this a French restaurant but really, it's more like French adjacent. They aren't strictly French at all. Oh, and you have to pay for bread and butter.
