Sushi was better than what I expected. Rice to fish ratio was nice and the stickiness of rice was just right.
Ramen did not taste good though. Noodle felt overcooked and the broth tasted too much like bamboo shoot water.
The atmosphere was good and we enjoyed it.

Such a beautiful spot! The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing, and the food completely exceeded our expectations. I had the spicy miso ramen combo that came with your choice of appetizer, I got the steamed gyoza, and my husband tried the Sequoia Deluxe — both dishes were full of flavor, and the fish was so fresh. The presentation was gorgeous too! If you are sushi lovers I definitely recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back again soon.

My wife and I came here for the first time for lunch and it exceeded our expectations. The dishes and atmosphere were very creative l. The sushi rolls we got were not your typical sushi rolls and crispy salmon salad was fantastic! Highly recommend.

Great place, the waitresses are nice, and the sushi is really good. The ingredients are fresh.
What I notice about this place is that the interior decoration is very pleasant, has great personality without being in your face, and the food also is usually very pretty, and neat. It really isn't that inventive or insanely flavorful, but you get a good deal as far as price. It is a little bit overpriced considering the portion sizes. I would say it's main draw is the aesthetics of everything. It's strongest point is definitely aesthetics, but I'm not going to knock the taste.
I had the ramen, and it was pretty good. The noodles were the weak point of the ramen, everything else I cannot remember.
The sushi is really delicious, I can't remember what exactly I ordered I just always enjoy it.
It's not some sort of hidden gem, just you get quality food, it's consistent, and the staff are nice.

Do not get this on DoorDash they just made the dasher sit there waiting for 40 minutes after it said it would be ready.

Waited 20 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. A couple that came in after us was almost seated before us because the hostess was not keeping track of people coming in, and we were told to seat ourselves when a table was available. It then took another 15 minutes for someone to take our order. No one checked in on us after that and after about 45 minutes of waiting when we asked about our order we were brought the wrong appetizers twice, upon inquiring again we were finally told that the order was never put into the system. Having lived in lots of cities and gone to lots of restaurants this was the first time service has ever been so bad. Understaffed or not this has been the worst service experience by far we’ve ever had. When we asked to talk to a manager we were told that the managers did not speak english and only spoke chinese, it was clear there was never an intention to remedy the situation. Left after that will never be going back regardless of reviews that the food is “good”.

We ordered at 6:30 and food didn’t come until 7:45….. the waitress only came to take our drink orders once and we didn’t see her again until 7:45. Avoid this restaurant. Madison has a lot more options.

I was in town taking care of family and needed a bite to eat. As I walked down the street, I saw Sequoia and decided some ramen was in order!
I was greeted and seated right away and was given the menu, from which I chose the Ramen Combo with Seaweed Salad and Sequoia Ramen.
The salad came out first and was a pleasant surprise. The salad itself was your pretty standard leafy greens, but they put the seaweed on top and it really made the salad pop. Don't know how that works, but it did.
The ramen came next and was a decent lunch-size portion. The broth was tasty and the pork belly was a tasty addition.
Overall, whenever I come back to Madison, I will probably be back!

Update: STILL excellent!!! It's our go-to date night dinner place. Food is consistently amazing, happy hour specials are a great value, and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic.
