Amongst the plethora of options of State St restaurants SGD doesn't stand out in appearance but make no mistake, they stand out in the most important way. Their food. And the packed restaurant is testament to how good it is. They serve a good variety of different foods and the three dishes we had were outstanding. Their side dishes were plentiful and delicious, and their staff were easy going and attentive. If your looking for delectable Korean food you can't go wrong eating here.

Very good Korean food. The tofu jigae is piping hot, and you have to crack the egg into it for full experience! Also strongly recommend galbi (short rib) which is tender, full of flavor, and in huge portion. Top quality meat selection. Love the ambient as well. Nice selection of k-pop music. Come in during lunch time as they are always full during dinner rush hours!

I am Korean, and I really loved the genueine Korean foods. They are so amazing that I could feel the taste of Seoul! If you have time, join the authentic Korean food in Madison!

The tofu soup used to be authentic and good. I recently revisited here. It got worse. It’s definitely under-seasoned. I guess it has less Dashida(beef flavor msg) than it used to. Also, I could see the pepper power in the soup. That means they did not overnight their seasoning mixtures. That’s a bad choice in this kind of soup. Customers would notice it. So, please go back to the original taste.

Came here with a party of 5 by a recommendation of a friend. Our server Vicky quickly sat us down and got us our drinks. We ordered the short ribs, pork belly, kimchi pancake, and soon Dubu jijjae, and a hot stone bibimbap. They came within 10 minutes and the other server who brought it out to us was super friendly, and checked in with us every so often, and made sure our waters were already full. Our soon dubu jijjae came with kalgusu noodles, that tasted exactly like the ones I had in Korea. Highly recommend this place and will be coming again.

Love SGD Korean restaurant! The tofu soup is flavorful and comforting, with just the right amount of spice. The beef short ribs are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor—definitely a must-try. Friendly service too. I’ll definitely be coming back!
