I've been a customer since I moved to the area in 2012. The BBQ and sides are fantastic. I've never had a bad meal here. The restaurant is very small and seating is limited. I recommend getting take out. There are a couple other good BBQ places in the Madison area, but Smoky Jon's is my absolute favorite, hands down.
Parking: There are only a few spaces in the lot in front of the restaurant. I've never failed to find a spot, but the lot is very small.

Tornado steak house ribs are 1000% times better. Allyn rewards here don’t stand for anything… the ribs are super tough. The brisket is mush, th Mac and cheese is mush, the corn is over seasoned, th pork shoulder has no flavor.

Smokey Jon's #1 BBQ is the absolute best barbecue that I have eaten in Wisconsin! It arguably is THE #1 barbecue that I have ever consumed, the staff are very friendly and when you eat in the restaurant it feels like you're eating at home with superb hospitality!
The portions are generous and the prices are very fair, for the quality and quantity of food that you get in a meal or dinner, it's well worth every penny and second to eat!
I don't ideally get excited about BBQ, but I can eat Smokey Jon's every day of the week! They have a large menu with a spread of delectable eats and sauces, which are my favorite! Sorry, I don't have photos of their amazing food, it's THAT GOOD that a photo can't be taken in time, too good!?
RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! 100% LEGIT BBQ!
BTW, Do yourself a favor and buy a couple of bottles of hot and regular Smokey Jon's BBQ sauce and YOU will thank me later! ?

Found this place by happy accident after leaving the airport. Ordered the chopped beef sandwich,corn,and mac&cheese. BBQ sauce was sweet and delicious with a mild bite that didn't linger,nor burn on my lips. The mac was cheesy with great texture. The corn was too spicy for me ( in my defense, I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food). I asked for the creamy coleslaw, which was delicious. I would definitely go here again given the opportunity. The staff was super nice.

Coming from Texas , I can definitely say the ribs and the pulled pork are exceptional. The ribs are smoked to perfection and the bbq sauce is sweet and tangy . Pulled pork was moist and not dry at all. Definitely recommend Smoky Jon’s.
