I had a very upsetting experience at this Starbucks. I ordered two drinks, but
after waiting for a long time, a staff her name is Carly, #2309 insisted that I had only paid
for one. I had actually been charged twice. Instead of checking calmly, she
tried to take the drink out of my hand and spoke to me with a very rude
attitude.

Even after confirming that I did pay for both drinks, she did not apologize.
When I asked why she accused me of not paying, her attitude became even more
unfriendly. I requested to speak with the manager, and she told me she was the
manager — which was shocking, considering how unprofessional she was.

I have lived in this city and on this street for 17 years, and I have never
experienced anything like this. It was truly shocking. If someone cannot
control their emotions while on the job, they should not be working on the
front line. Customers are not obligated to understand an employee’s past,
stress, or personal issues. We only expect basic respect and professionalism.

This experience made me feel extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. I
honestly felt I was being singled out. No customer should ever be treated this way.

There are more than four employees who have been working here consistently at this store. On the other hand, the two female employees who have been here consistently,
at least throughout this year, are always excellent, even during very busy
hours. The girl who working at the front cashier is always polite — and that is
the difference.

The negative impact from Carly would simply be too great.

I hope the district manager looks into this. This level of behavior from a
manager is unacceptable and far from the standard I expect from Starbucks.

visited in November and noticed many flies inside the food display case! For a customer service business, this is concerning,, and the hygiene management could definitely be improved. I ended up leaving without buying anything

Never leave with the drink I wanted! I can order the SAME drink I got at the Capitol Square location and leave with something totally different. Save the headache and go to the Square!

I had a terrible experience with Nick working the cashier today. I will say, it was quite busy but nothing new considering it is the state street location and students go there all the time during the school year. He was asking me my order as he was putting food in the warmer so I didn’t want to start rattling off my long order when he wasn’t physically putting it in as i’m talking so i said, “I would just like a couple drinks and food whenever you’re ready!” he then proceeded to respond “like i said, what do you want?” I was speechless when he talked to me like that. I then just handed him my phone with my order on it to type it in so he wouldn’t say anything else to me. I then paid with cash and my card which clearly made him upset and scoffed. After I paid the other workers usually say “thank you” or “have a nice day” so I stood there and he just stared at me until I finally just walked away. I never hit ‘no tip’ faster in my life. He should NOT be working in the service industry talking to customers like that. He proceeded to talk to other customers the exact same way. Unbelievable.

Went today to get a coffee. It's a big day in Madison--Mifflin Street and Crazy Legs--and Starbucks is not open! Wtf. When I am able to get in, service is always great though the workers seem completely overworked but are still always super nice to the customers. Why are they not open on such a great day? They'd be making bank!

Don’t waste your time ordering ahead especially for food they’ll just look at you wierd when you get to the store and take a few minutes to start the food while not busy
Update 2/11 - service continues to be awful, when my sandwich was stolen from the mobile order area they tried to refuse to remake it

Be prepared to bring your own hotspot. Wi-Fi had 0.15mbps speed. Zero-effort drinks (expect the absolute worst steamed milk - microfoam? ha!). Line of 12 people and 3 employees standing around not doing much of anything. Zero warning for when they kick everyone out of the upstairs area several hours before close. Homeless laying on chairs or just being weird. Aside from the worst latte you will ever drink, the ambiance is bad. At least they are open late! Oh wait, no, they’re not. As a former Starbucks employee I’m embarrased to have been associated with this brand.
