Excellent beer - and I am very picky as a new beer drinker. But what drew us here was the wings and they are excellent!! We've been here 4 weekends in a row for these wings! The house rub is delicious and doesn't need any sauce. We've tried multiple rubs and sauces and they are all good. The spring roll was huge and so fresh and yummy, I've had it twice. This is our go to Sunday afternoon spot! Give them a try!
Great beer options and other beverages. Really enjoyed the landjäger meat stick and cheese curds. My favorite beer was the rye. Nice staff
We always have a great time at Starkweather. It does not have the feel of a 'sports bar'. This makes the environment more natural for conversations. The food is really nice and their tap selection is usually tasty. They do activities/games during some evenings and have outside seating.
Delicious wings (Sweet Texas dry rub), good alternative over the 'licks. Nice variety of beer with friendly bartenders!
Good brews & delicious snacks
Stopped by for Puzzles and Pints, sounded like a cozy afternoon. We got there at 1 (30 minutes early), only to be told they'd given the last puzzle away.
The site said get there early, but I'm not getting there 90 minutes early to do a puzzle. Running out of puzzles before table space was surprising and disappointing
My husband suggested we eat here and grab a beer while he picks up his packet for a triathlon. The staff members were very friendly, helpful, and absolutely lovely. My husband, two kids, and I enjoyed the food, outdoor atmosphere, and employees. I strongly recommend this place for any age!! The beer I ordered was fresh and delicious, too. I hope to return soon :)
Totchos (Tater Tot Nachos) with Chorizo.
Good wings and beer! Definitely recommend the house made ranch dressing
Great beer and the taps change frequently - there’s something new every time we visit.
Love the chicken tenders and the “totchos” are a guilty pleasure.

The wings were so good! And excellent beer variety.
This is a great place for a bite to eat and tap beers. Love that they have gluten free food options. The only thing that was unsatisfactory is that I couldn't use the pub pass on anything but their own brewed beer, which is understandable but it would have been nice for them to make an exception due to an allergy. Last time we were here we had totchos and they were fabulous. This time we both had chicken and it was also great!
Excellent craft beer and amazing wings!
Starkweather might fair weather. the beer was so-so...typical madison small brewery beer. Food was lackluster at best. The 13.50 8 wings or drumsticks were confusing with the rubs (mesquite was very salty) and sauces...add on $3,50 worth of fries. then a soft pretzel and somehow with 2 beers and 2 lemonades I got to $47 after tip.... IDK....but not impressed. Good luck if you go! Once saving grace was Jenga and Connect 4 for the kids.
So surprising that this place is only a few years old. EXCELLENT food — hubby says their chicken wings are the best in Madison; I love the Totchos! Always an interesting selection of beers, lots of different styles. Nancy runs special events and there’s always something fun going on. Last night was Beer & Chocolate Pairing with Gail Ambrosius Chocolates. The vibe is super friendly. Always someone interesting to talk to!
