This was easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had since before COVID. The service was absolutely exceptional—from the moment we walked in the door to the last bite of dessert. Every detail was thoughtful: friendly greetings, perfectly timed check-ins, and spot-on food recommendations. You can truly feel the passion and pride this team puts into their work. And that was just the service! The food was beyond incredible. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and asked for it spicy—and they nailed it. The balance of flavor and heat was perfection. Every bite was rich, authentic, and unforgettable. A thousand out of ten—highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back soon.

Super impressed with the service and entire experience — but the food truly stole the show! Every dish was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend everyone come check this place out!

Prices are absurd for what you actually get. Not to mention food was forgotten with a pickup order.

I have been coming to Swagat for years. Especially with my kids. The staff is mostly friendly and the food is good. During COVID, they raised their prices astronomically. Like $23 - $26 for the buffet. Just ridiculous. So for a few years, we just didn't go there anymore because it felt like they were taking advantage of the situation.

Last week I went back because I saw they lowered their prices to a reasonable price. $16 for lunch buffet during weekdays and $18 on weekends. The food was good, BUT not very warm. I think if they just turn up there food warmers a bit it will make a huge difference.... the difference between coming back and not coming back. Cold Indian food is not good.

I'll give them another shot, but if the food is cold again, there are better Indian restaurants in Madison. I come here for the variety of their buffet.

Amazing food with authentic Indian taste. Specially the tandoori and the chicken biryani were as authentic as it could get.

Great price for buffet. I ate way too much. All the food is amazing. I especially like the paneer dishes. You have to try the batura's. I'm definitely going once a month

Excellent lunch buffet. Lots of items. 1 table for appetizers, 1 table for main entrees, and 1 table for desserts. Service is great. Lots of parking.

This is my go-to place for Indian takeout. The food is delicious, the portions are generous without being way too much, and it's quick and easy to order online for carry-out. I'd recommend ordering one spice level spicier than you think you want; medium heat is not very strong at all.

I've come here a half a dozen times since moving to this side of town. I'm unsure what the people of Madison deem as quality food or service, but It's been poor.

The quality of food has been inedible. I live close by and it seems that DoorDash deliveries get primary consideration.

When I've called to speak with someone on the phone they have given entirely different orders to me when I come pick them up or they don't understand what chicken tikka is when I say it clearly.

People have been short with me.

They've given me the incorrect order entirely after I show up to pick up my food.

The food itself has been inconsistent in its ingredients and quality. The chicken has been rubbery, the sauce itself has been either plain and bland or just loaded with oil.

I've been very nice and tipped very well over 20% whenever I come in.

I wanted to like this place and I don't know if the other reviewers just don't know what real Indian food is.

I haven't always lived in Wisconsin so I don't know what the people of Madison are used to eating but I won't be returning.
