Don’t be fooled by the understated exterior—this cozy Mexican restaurant is an absolute hidden gem! I previously lived in the area for many years but had never experienced the delicious food and friendly service provided by Taqueria Guadalajara up until my most recent visit. I can tell you with confidence, I had definitely been missing out, and so are you!
I placed a pickup order through DoorDash and arrived a bit early. At first, I was hesitant because the restaurant is exterior is understated and attached to a laundromat, but my doubts disappeared when I walked inside.
The space was clean, colorful, and welcoming, with a cozy dining area and a full-service bar. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who immediately checked on my food. Even though I was early, my order was almost ready. The man kindly offered me a seat at the bar while I waited and I obliged. I ordered a raspberry lemonade and when I say it was the best raspberry lemonade I’ve had in a long time, I’m not exaggerating. Shortly after my food was ready and I was heading to the door, i wished I had the time to stay and eat.
Before leaving, I used the restroom, which was extremely clean and smelled amazing—not something you usually expect at a Mexican restaurant. When I finally got home to eat, my enchiladas were still hot and absolutely delicious. They also included complimentary chips and salsa, which really added to the experience. You wont regret eating here!!

We placed an order for takeout online through EatStreet. When we went to pick up the order, the staff said that they never received confirmation. On EatStreet, it said they were waiting for the restaurant to confirm the order still. Turns out, the iPad they have hooked up to receive online orders wasn't even hooked up to the internet so, of course, no ideas would come through. The staff even acknowledged that their tablet was not hooked up to the internet so they have no confirmation.
Despite showing my order confirmation, the receipt from EatStreet, and that I had already been charged for it, they refused to make the order. I can understand not wanting to make random orders without confirmation, but the staff member was practically ignoring us as we tried to explain the situation. All they had to do was connect to the internet and our order would have come through. The money would be deposited in their account. The staff member was quite rude and made no attempt to find some sort of resolution. We were very disappointed with the service.

IMO one of the best, if not the best in town for Mexican. (and I used to live in Texas so I'm picky!) Food is good, service is fast and prices are reasonable.
I ordered the steak nachos Mexicanos for pickup and they were not worth it. My chips were stale so I didn’t even eat half of those. The toppings themselves weren’t very flavorful either. They needed more cheese and sauce. My order also wasn’t made when I got there (even though I received an email it was ready) and I overall did not have a good experience.

Very quick it you do to go! It's hard to find really great Mexican food in Madison. As a Cali transplant, this definitively is close. Liked the asada, they could up the flavor a bit, I think, though! Overall, I'd recommend this for a good Mexican food fix.
