So disappointing. Beers were meh and served in plastic glasses. Food options are super limited (which is usually a good sign) but we did not find anything good. Only industrial food (no cook there), e.g. the hummus plate is a plastic box. Cheese is barely cheese. Bretzel and sausages were just okay. However, the place near the lake is very nice, with lots of tables and good vibes. What might explain all the positive reviews, I guess.

I’ve been here many times and really like the views and beer selection.

Last night was a disappointment as all online opening hours for the Biergarten say Friday open until 10pm, and staff turned the lights off at 9:25pm, leaving the few tables (myself included) taking the hint and finding elsewhere to go. The unwelcome atmosphere started around 9pm when the games were cleared, trash cans removed, and tables wiped.

Online and posted hours should reflect the true closing time of the Biergarten.

It's on Lake Monona. On a summer's night, can't be beat. By

Great spot to hang out and have a beer on the lake. Fresh curds and mini brats were pretty good but I kinda wish full-size brats were also an option (unless I missed it).

Really cool place especially if you don't have a place like this in your home town. Great view and beer. Snack food was good enough. Couple unique snacks. But hey, drinking draft beer outside by a lake with a great view.

Always a fun place to go. Love the atmosphere and staff.

Nice outdoor location that is family friendly, and, as others mentioned, a good alternative to the Memorial Union Terrace.

My understanding is that they do require ID from everyone in your party unless accompanied by an adult. This is a fairly common blanket policy to avoid employees making invalid judgment calls. Just something to be aware of beforehand.

Seriously a true gem of the east side. This place is unique in Madison in that there aren't many places to have a beer on the lake aside from the Terrace. You might have to park across the street when it's busy, but the food options are great (limited, but great), the beer options are ample and quality, and the prices are super reasonable.

Good be a full '5' review if there were more food choices. With that being said, this was a nice park with plenty of picnic table seats, small foods and beverages. Beautiful setting with lovely trees, the lake, volleyball, sand pit and a parking lot. Well worth the visit.

Kid-friendliness: Nice park with a sand lot and plenty of places to run around (cornhole too)

We visited Madison for the weekend and heard a lot of hype about the Curd Girl food truck, so we decided to check it out at the farmers market on Saturday. Honestly, it just didn’t live up to the expectations. The cheese curds were good, but they weren’t crispy, which was pretty disappointing. I mean, they give you a decent amount for the price, but it just wasn’t what I was hoping for.

With all the hype, I expected something better. I’m not sure what the big fuss is about, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. They’re usually at the farmers market all summer long, but I don’t think I’d get them again. Next time I’m in Madison, I’ll probably try cheese curds from somewhere else.

Be advised: You may have to wait in line to enter due to its strict capacity enforcement.
