We were expecting more atmosphere and better food choices. They were limited. Ended up having a salad. Kind of small space, not to convenient to get to our to sit down comfortably.

Food was good but it took about 40 mins to get our food. The best part about this place is the location

Thought being on the lake it would have a Friday fishfry. NOT! Codfella sandwich all bun and fish deep fried and all breading.fish tacos were fried fish chunks arranged on top of shredded lettuce, another miss. Atmosphere is great. Right on the water. Eat somewhere else and save this place for cocktails.

Great place for a nice date to bring the gal. Me and my beautiful girlfriend had an amazing time at the boat house and the staff was so friendly đAlso it was also nice to had seen someone propose to their true love while we enjoyed our meal! Congratulations and I pray that your love last even through death!

Stopped in at the Boat house and honestly, itâs one of those places you donât want to leave. The view is unrealâright on the water, so you can just sit back, relax, and watch the boats go by. Food was way better than I expected for a lakeside restaurantâfresh, tasty, and big portions. The staff was super chill and friendly too, which just added to the whole laid-back vibe. Perfect place to grab a bite, have a drink, and enjoy the view. Definitely coming back.

Our stay on September 5,6 and 7 was horribly dissapointing. To start with we had requested a corner room facing the lake. Our reservation had been made four months in advance. When we arrived this was not available. The staff offered to compensate valet and resort fees. The following day we were out of the room most of the day. When we returned at 5:30 we found our room had not been cleaned. We notified the front desk and it took 40 minutes before someone arrived to do a quick 5 minutes clean. I had requested clean sheets but that didnât happen. They again offered to compensate valet parking and resort fee. We explained those had already been offered for our other issue at check-in. The staff told us they would have to check with management before they could compensate us for problem having our room cleaned. The following day I once again requested fresh sheets and again that was ignored. Upon checkout we were handed a bill with no compensation for either of our complaints. Except for a nice driver named Dylan, we did not find the staff friendly. We would certainly not recommend this hotel.
Came during Labor Day weekend before hitting the taste of Madison. I used to work at the Edgewater and would come down to get food here. So, it was nice being able to come down and enjoy some food. Food quality was still good. We got the cheese curds and fries.

What a view!
We had lunch there on a Wednesday afternoon.
We parked a little over a block away. Free street parking. I could see if it was busy parking could be a problem. As far as I know I don't' think the restaurant offers parking?
The restaurant is located in a hotel, on the bottom two floors. The first floor was closed. The lower floor has a small bar area with an outdoor terrace right on Lake Mendota.
There were one or two open tables but the receptionist said either they were holding them for reservations or something about the waitress was slammed earlier and taking a break? She said we could wait 15 min or take a table in the bar area. It was such a nice weather day that we decided to wait. In less than 10 minutes she ended up giving us one of the tables that was originally open.
My wife had a Blue Moon beer which she said was super cold and very good.
We ordered some chips and salsa and enjoyed the excellent view.
There were about 2 or 3 birds which took an interest in our chips and were annoying, but what do you expect being outside.
The chips and salsa were ok. They advertised the chips were made in-house. I thought they needed more salt and could be a bit crisper. I enjoyed that the salsa was pureed, but we both agreed it was a bit bland.
My wife had the shrimp roll with chips. I had the cheeseburger with up- charged $2 fries.
She said her sandwich was good but could use less cucumbers and more shrimp but would get it again.
I ordered my cheeseburger plain with just cheese. It was done medium which I prefer. The patty was thicker than normal but a bit smaller than the bun.
It appeared they attempted to toast the bun but it was not crisp. It was ok but would try something different next time. The fries were a bit underdone and semi warm. Would not get them again.
I would go back again to enjoy the outstanding view.

Everything was great although the way the younger employees (servers), behaved, they seem to be prejudice towards out of town people. The bar crew were amazing and beyond helpful! Thanks again.
