First time visiting this amazing restaurant definitely not the last. Love the beautiful warm brick, lighting, everything. Perfect atmosphere. We planned to go out to eat for a nice meal before seeing Hamilton, but never imagined that the meal would eclipse the Broadway show! Everything from the bread and French onion soup to the amazing salmon and steak and appetizers was beyond outstanding. The service was wonderful. The other patrons were so kind and Everything was perfect.
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary and had an absolute fabulous time! The food was fabulous, the staff were wonderful, and the ambience was everything!
We will definitely be back!

Really pleasant dinner at The Harvey House a few weeks ago. The crudite platter was good BUT the green goddess dip was borderline tasteless. I’d recommend some salt and more punchy herbs. The fish entree was spectacular and unlike anything I had ever had, truly a showstopper. Drinks were well made, and our waiter was so on top of it coming with ice cold glasses halfway through our martinis. I would definitely recommend and revisit.

I'm torn on this restaurant. Service was top notch. All of the staff we encountered were extremely personable and welcoming. The food was quite underwhelming given the price of each dish. Deviled eggs on the relish trey were quite bland, the spaghetti squash was very oily and had a odd flavor, the baked potato was so hard and crunchy it was almost inedible (which our server told us they deep fry it after they bake it), and finally the ribeye was extremely fatty. We ordered the 32oz ribeye for two and almost half of the steak was fat. It would have been an amazing dining experience but it fell flat with lackluster food. This was my second time at Harvey House but I'm not sure I'd come back for a third.

Swung by right after opening on a Wednesday and the experience right off the bat was excellent. Hostess set the bar high by saying that my server is her favorite server when she eats there and the server Zoe was phenomenal.
Loved seeing the passion and authentic enthusiasm in her face when she spoke of the food; she answered all my questions made me genuinely excited and giddy to eat. The salmon was excellent, perfectly fluffy and moist and the skin was PERFECTLY crispy.
Excellent customer service from all other waitstaff, can’t wait to be back in Madison to eat here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at The Harvey House. While the food was very good, the service was exceptional and cocktails were outstanding. Multiple areas within the restaurant with their own dining experience including a train car for special events. Their take on french onion soup does not disappoint.

Waivered between a 2 and 3 star. The atmosphere and service are wonderful. Beautiful space and very good service. But you're there for the food and drink which was just 'meh' and honestly not very flavorful and overly experimental for what's intended to be a modern supper club. The food was not well seasoned, just did not have much flavor. Presentation of food was great, but the taste on everything from the appetizers, soup, and main dish was just ok if not off-putting. I had just a few bites of the French onion bouillon, and did not finish the walleye dish. It was bland and odd textured. Had the red corn old fashioned. It basically tasted like bourbon on a giant block of ice. Perhaps my fault for ordering that but I love a bourbon old fashioned and this was not great. Maybe others love it - not for me. For the cost of the meal, definitely not worth the value.

We made our reservations 1 month ahead for 5 pm because we were attending a concert after dinner. Our server made sure our meals were served in a timely manner so we could make the concert. 2 of us ordered the rigatoni. The noodles were half cooked and very chewy. The other 2 in our party ordered the steak and eggs. It was a beef short rib encircled in a cake like Wellington breading. The beef ribs were very tough and there was way too much breading around the meat. The other person in our party ordered the chicken schnitzel which was excellent. Had we had more time to spend we would have brought these issues to our waiter’s attention but we didn’t have time to send meals back. We usually are not that particular and enjoy new experiences. My husband and I have been to the Harvey House before and were very pleased. We were very excited to take our friends there before the concert. Unfortunately, we were disappointed enough this time that we will think twice about our dinning options given this past experience. We do want to say we were very happy with the wait staff. And all our food was hot and well presented. Maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen.

Hidden excellence! Hey call me Old Fashioned, that's the name of a drink, the place offers a quaint atmosphere with a fantastically different menu. The Walleye was next level. The kielbasa in a blanket, truly Wisconsin! And that chocolate cake, as succulent as your first date!

We had the best service I’ve had at a restaurant, EVER. Food was incredible. Cocktails were cold and fantastic.
Would absolutely recommend a friend to come here and can’t wait to come back. This place is amazing.

The staff, especially our server Grace, really made our anniversary celebration memorable! Excellent service…Grace’s fantastic descriptions of the steak special and the walleye had us debating…we both went with the walleye and were glad we did! The quality of that fillet and the thin “skin” of rye bread with the lightly horseradished sabayon…wow! Apple pie pavlova was perfection as well. Can’t wait to return to try the other options!

Zoey was our server, and she was so knowledgeable and gave the best suggestions from appetizers through dessert. Excellent and attentive service. The food was incredible - steak cooked to perfection, creative playful textures and flavors, lots of depth to every dish. We will definitely be back!
