Now when I tell you I’m scared of this place I mean it. DONT EVER EVER go here. This place is absolutely disgusting. I went here with some friends for a nice night after work to get some food. Turns out things must not be changed frequently. The pizza there looked as If it was there since lunch time and it was at least 7pm now. The garlic bread was hard as a rock. The crab is absolutely disgusting it is black meat. and I was told it’s seposed to look like that. I’ve never seen it like that ever. The ice cream machine has mold on it. I think this place needs to go. It’s just not safe for the people and the heath department needs to shut it down.

Free off street parking at well established American - Chinese buffet restaurant on Madieadg side. Rapid weekday lunch time seating at table. Large selection of food at self serve buffet. Good value.

TLDR: Fine buffet with a large selection, though not always seasoned well.
The service was great, and the chefs were nice. However, I am unsure if the lack of seasonings is a northern midwest Chinese buffet theme but many of the dishes had very dull flavors. I've ate at Chinese buffets across the states and this one was rough on flavor. Went during Saturday night dinner when about 30-40 other customers were there.
Some key points: Some Sushi was older and the tops had gotten hard due to sitting. There were also hot (temp) fish ontop of some of the rice.
The hibachi lacked sauce (bland even with me putting lots of aromatics) and also some of the beef had freezer burn on that side.
The crawfish taste like they were only boiled in water.
Overall not a great experience for me, maybe Saturday nights aren't the best. My other reviews of various other buffets across the states shows im not hard to please and am quite gracious in reviews. So take that as you please

Not the best place to eat, soft ice cream machine had a blackish mold stuff growing around the nozzles. Carpet is stained severely, bathrooms smelled like old sea food, and paper wads on floor. 3 buffets islands completely shut down plus a pizza and garlic bread warmer shut down, limited food options with food only being luke warm, With that being said, I wonder how clean and safe the kitchen area is. I think a visit from Health Dept. may be needed for customer food safety.

If the soft serve machine is operational this place is better than if it's broken. I want so many wonderful experiences at this style of buffet. What I really want is a different buffet altogether. It's a lot of pressure to put on The Journey. We'd both be better off if I just accepted the limitations of this place. It's ok.

For everyone who rated more than one star, do you guys actually eat human food?? The food was not good at all. It was cold and bland. The atmosphere is depressing. I understand you’re cooking for a Wisconsin crowd but you at least make it good!

Updated 1/17/26: The quality has went downhill. The space is dirtier, there’s less options and the food tastes gross. Even the ice cream from the ice cream machine tasted freezer burnt. I wouldn’t come back here. The only good thing was the customer service.
