Denny's sandwiches exactly how you think they'd be. They're soggy, bland, and have the smallest portions. Only tolerable because I'm drunk.

Before I go any further I want to make it clear that this is a delivery only grilled sandwich restaurant that is run out of Denny's. I had a few people over and we decided to order lunch and one of them wanted to try this "new" place they saw on GrubHub, The Meltdown. I had gone from never hearing about them, searching for them and seeing they had almost 1,000 "locations" and then seeing they were all run out of Denny's. Then when I received the sandwiches it became very obvious this is just Denny's -- the boxes used Denny's stickers, the containers for the fries and onion rings were clearly marked Denny's -- so make no mistake: You are ordering from Denny's. ## TL;DR - The Meltdown is Denny's but grilled sandwiches only. The food itself is 3 stars in terms of taste but 2 stars for quantity for the money, how well it traveled (important given that this is delivery only), and some minor issues. I ordered the burnt end sandwich combo. It was messy but good in terms of flavor. The beef chunks were large so they spilled easily out of the sandwich (so the balance of flavor was not great unless you used your hands) and a little fatty (which is fine for me but not to everyone's taste). I ordered the fries with it. They did not travel well and were soggy (again, for a delivery only place, less than ideal)... but the seasoning was good. The cost: $18 (which, if it wasn't for a friend really wanting to try it, would've shut me down right away). For a decent sized sandwich that traveled poorly, what is about the equivalent of a small fry that traveled poorly, and a 20oz fountain Diet Coke. Mrs. T got their roast beef and caramelized onion sandwich and she graciously offered me a couple of bites to try it. Again, good in terms of flavor, but it didn't travel well (even worse than the burnt end sandwich) and had a soggy feel. She ordered the onion rings and while the rings were a good size there were only six of them in an order. They traveled better than the fries, at least. The cost: $14. Their selection is also fairly limited. Eight sandwiches, two kid's sandwiches (which are just smaller versions of two of the eight), three sides, and one dessert "sandwich". Ultimately for a delivery only restaurant trying to pretend it isn't a Denny's their product selection was not well thought through nor does it offer enough variety or menu flexibility to be broadly appealing. It also bears noting, in my humble opinion, that the lack of a ham option at a grilled sandwich restaurant pretending not to be a Denny's but operating entirely out of Denny's chains is odd given the ready availability of ham at Denny's (which, again, The Meltdown is in all but name). ## If you read nothing else, read this: The Meltdown is fine if you can handle soggy fries and bread, but there are so many better options that are generally half the price.

This isn't a "restaurant" so don't try to "go somewhere" -- they are an exclusive DoorDash order place that serves magnificent grilled cheeses and a variety of other delicious food. You order through DD, they have a delicious menu. We got a Classic Meltdown (grilled cheese, fries) and the Giddy Up Melt (grilled cheese with beef) which were both outstanding. The breads are great, the cheese was perfectly melted. The fries are also delicious, absolutely recommend. Cons: I ordered mine with the "cucumber salad" which I was not a fan of. Also, our beverages were not great, the raspberry tea wasn't worth more than a sip. Order from here and try them!
