Don’t bother coming here. I walked in for lunch, the bald male waiter looked at me like I was in the wrong place. I had to ask if there is table service. He gave me this whole speech about brunch and bingo or something, he clearly didn’t want to be bothered. The place was empty, bad vibe, probably due to the rude waiter when you walk in. If I owned this place, I would fire this guy.

Ordered the beer battered cod fish fry. Received baked cod instead of beer battered fried cod. Plate didn’t have coleslaw or tartar sauce and was lukewarm at best. Also ordered the fried cauliflower appetizer that was also barely warm. $30 for subpar food? Wouldn’t recommend.

The ugly bearded male bartender at the post told me my REAL ID was a fake. I am 22 and from California. He said the “yellow light” meant it was fake. Has he never seen an out of state ID? Or is he simply stupid and untrained? Either way he was extremely rude after I presented him with multiple second forms of ID which he refused to look at.

Kind of meh experience. The food was not bad. The service was mediocre. I ordered the seared scallops and you can see from the photo they were not very seared.

Staff was inexperienced, dinner was mediocre. Desserts were excellent however. Breakfast was decent if unexceptionable.

Today on November 30th I went to the Post to have a relaxing afternoon with a cup of coffee as I normally do all over the State. I used valet because I thought it was cool. I entered the Post and I ordered coffee. I asked the waitress if she knew anything about the tours on the balcony of the State Capitol that I saw as I arrived. She replied no.

I told her I'll Google about the tours. I told her what I found and a few minutes later I asked if it would be ok if I went to the see the balcony tour because it was something I haven't done. She said certainly. I was offered food shortly before that so I told her as soon as I return I will order food!

When I returned Madison Police Department were in the entrance to the Post as the officers saw me approach they closed their notebook. The manager at the Post called the police to report what I imagine was theft of a cup of coffee. I wonder how he reasoned this if I asked permission and I left my car in their valet.

Someone had to lie somewhere to get the police to respond. Madison Police Department refused to inform of the purpose of their officers at that location. It was because of a lie but they decided to protect the liar for another opportunity to harass me with police at locations I arrive to. I never had intent to leave without paying. I even asked permission.

The manager did this to help the police department cause an altercation because I would be upset that I was lied on or about once again. I chose to tell! You guys should ask for the police report for today. Question the logic behind police at that location and the riddle behind why I keep seeing police at locations I go to?

Cool addition is that the museum across the street had a mention of the Post inside of it. Take a look at the photo.

Food was excellent, and fairly priced even though the restaurant has an upscale look. Service wasn't great. We had kids with us and that clearly annoyed our server despite the restaurant being mostly empty.

Was here for a conference. Dinner was alright, location is really what makes this place great. Some staff was super welcoming and lovely, however the manager himself it seemed bothered by my co worker when she said politely her drink order was incorrect. That honestly was off putting.

Stayed at the Best Western for an Ironman, came down for breakfast, at the Post, 4 tables out of 20, were occupied. Talked to the hostess and she said the wait was over an hour. Horrific management and staffing.

I came because the description says "happy hour specials" and when I asked about them was told that there are no happy hour specials and laughed at for asking. Tipsy Cow, if correct your description, tell me and I'll immediately delete this review.
