Went for the first time during restaurant week. Awesome menu for the event. Food was delicious and wait staff was great. They also validated the parking?
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE HUNGRY. My family and I went here this past weekend for my birthday, the food itself was good, don't get me wrong, but the beef Wellington for $67 dollars, you do not get enough food at all to fill yourself. My fiancé got the gnocchi for about $37 dollars and got maybe 5 dumplings. The food itself has a great flavor, but value for money? Absolutely not. Not to add the 19 dollar margarita I had, which was maybe 3 ounces at best of liquid. We went for dinner, and ended up going to a local bar afterwords to eat more food, so that we weren't starving.
We ordered a charcuterie board and dinner came when we were about 1/2 way through eating the charcuterie. Note to self: don't order dinner until you're ready for it. Both courses were quite good.
Service was terrible, waitress virtually ignored us. Food was OK, nowhere near what one would expect from the Edgewater. Overall very disappointing.
A lovely celebration was had for six friends celebrating 40 years of friendship. Thank you for all the attention and love, it was exceptional.
The food tasted great, and the servings were generous. A strong reason for choosing this restaurant was the amount of space between tables. It's really nice not to be sitting really close to other people.
Service was almost nonexistent. Food was dropped and server never returned to the table until they dropped the bill. We weren't finished; we wanted more drinks. A refill of water even would have been nice. Food was mediocre.
Our Christmas Eve dinner was outstanding! We came early for drinks at the bar and the 4 of us all had really tasty, pleasing cocktails. I don't even drink alcohol on a regular basis, but I loved what I had! We all really enjoyed our entrees, and an appetizer of roasted brussel sprouts! My husband doesn't like brussel sprouts, but he said they were very good. Cooked tender and excellent spicing. My husband and I have a 50+ year history with The Edgewater, often eating at the Statehouse for our anniversary, as it's beautiful there and sentimental for us. Their dinner menu has not only expanded, but they have the best chef ever! The place is beautifully decorated for Christmas, and we took several pictures everywhere. They were very busy Christmas Eve with all staff running like crazy. But everyone was cheerful, professional, and the service was top notch! Kudos to all the employees that evening! We can't wait to come back!
This place was lovely ! I celebrated my birthday here last night and I really enjoyed it. The food was also great ! I would love to come back again. I need to compliment your entire staff, they were all so kind. My husband and I loved our dinner! The hostess was so sweet. Everything about this place was amazing. What a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you !!

I went here for Thanksgiving dinner, and it was spectacular. The calamari had a light batter, not overly thick breading. The Shirley Temple had a grenadine I had never tasted before, but it was not bad. The bread pudding was a little too thick compared to the cream ratio, but it was still excellent. This was my first time trying beef wellington, and it was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly, and they let me substitute the normal sides for the Thanksgiving sides. The stuffing was amazing, as were the brussels sprouts.

This was on Thanksgiving - the prime rib was outstanding! Enjoyed the butter board appetizer, sausage stuffing and truffle fries. The cauliflower/leak soup was good but a tad bit on the salty side. It is a beautiful place, view was outstanding. The dining area was noisy and it was hard to have a conversation. There were 5 of us.
We went to celebrate our marriage, everybody was friendly, the food was great, and they even have us a complementary desert. We will definitely go again in the future

Exceptional dishes paired with sweeping lake views made for a memorable visit. The staff's genuine hospitality elevated the experience even further. This is a spot I'll be returning to on my next trip to Madison.
lake view is beautiful, that’s really the appeal of this restaurant. i’m a guest in the hotel and have had three meals here, all of them problematic. the food was overcooked and at times just didn’t taste very good. the service is nice and the people are very nice but i most likely will not come back here
