Doing the simple menu right. No lettuce or tomato but my burger didn’t need it, it was fantastic! Bar, grill and bar tables were clean and kept well. Staff was very friendly, I was able to watch the golfers across the street and fellow regulars were also quite nice. Highly recommend for a beer and burger!

If you are looking for a bar that can deliver on the "Dive" experience, look no further. Their burgers aren't breaking any new ground, but it doesn't need to. You get cheap, delicious and consistent food. The cook is a character who knows how to make you feel like a regular even when he admits he's never seen your face before. Can't recommend enough.

This place is just one of those classic Madison gems. The price is right on every drink (and food, too) in the house, the entire staff is very fun and friendly, and, yes, the burgers are that good. Meunsterberger and the Brickburger are my favorites and have a healthy portion of good cheese. I always stop in for "a" burger and never leave without at least two. This is the spot to go on the west side for some beer and good burgers.
