Absolutely perfect rest stop on the way to the Wisconsin Dells (iykyk)! We stopped for the supercharger and were able to take a lovely break for everyone to stretch out their legs. Super tasty food. The crispiest tots. An impossible burger for all my veg friends. They even gave us extra tots! They brought out and cleaned the high chair for us. Truly an amazing experience for what we thought would just be a rest stop.

I went there around 7:20pm and it looked close. I asked if they were closed and the guy said getting there and that’s it. Therefore I left. They did not respect their closing time at 8pm and the workers weren’t welcoming. Lost a customer.

Now this was a beautiful burger! Chef Ian actually cooked it to med. like I ordered. He seems to love his work and enthusiastically shares information on the menu items. The sweet potato tater tots are yum. Grab yourself some napkins and treat yourself!!!

Can’t say enough good things about the people running this operation. We basically ambushed them with a birthday party for an adult whose friend group consists of families with children of an average age of 3.5. A wedding after-party would have been more chill. Don’t do what I did; I’m just saying David and the rest of the team took amazing care of us on such short notice, and the food, as always, was on point and an incredible value. This restaurant is one of Madison’s best kept secrets…or at least I don’t know why it took me so long to catch on. Eat here, and tip this top notch crew.

Pleasantly surprised... I tried the Jenn salad with grilled chicken.. it was amazing.. it was made and delivered to our table by Ian... Who was super nice and thoughtful. Checked in on us too... The dining area was clean and nice but a little too chilly for me to relax and enjoy dining... But that's my personal preference. I'll be back to try the burger!

You don't go to Wahlburgers for Mark Wahlberg. You go to Wahlburgers for the Kitchen team that runs it. When you work in the restaurant industry for a long time you realize it's not so much a recipe or brand but, the team that cooks it. The person cooking your food is the biggest difference.
Here at Hy-Vee David R. and Ian along with all the cooks make Mark's menu good. You may read, "Bacon mac and cheese". As we all know it's offered everywhere but, who makes it is the difference.
In summary amazing dinner deals, Food cooked with love(give a damn), and pleasant service makes this an actual hidden gem because you wouldn't know to dig in here even if they put a celebrity's face on it.

I came in while charging my car on a very long day. It was 10 minutes before they closed and all the staff (Ian and David) were so welcoming and friendly. The burger was cooked fresh and juicy and the string onion rings were light and crisp. I was the last person in the restaurant and no one rushed me. It was a great experience on such a difficult day. My review for this joint is very based on what it is and when I go here. It exists in a somewhat strange middle ground between sitting down and getting a burger at your favorite dive, or rushing through McDonald’s just to get something to eat because you’re in a hurry.
I usually stop here when I’m heading out of town, I’m in a hurry but want actually good food.
I beg you, if you’re considering getting a burger anywhere in the area, please go here before fast food. It’s a similar price and significantly better, honestly it’s not even in the same league. The food is well priced, the burgers are amazing, and the options are plentiful.
If you’re looking for a place to sit down however the overall vibe is brought down greatly by it being in a Hy-Vee. The three times I’ve been here the staff has been either extremely friendly, potentially overly so, and extremely indifferent, making me feel like I should apologize just for taking their time to order. This did not really impact my enjoyment of the meal either way as the interactions were pretty short. I don’t think it can really compete with your favorite bar, or restaurant for sit down dining vibes, but I don’t think you would be right to make that comparison.

Got a much, much better meal than I was expecting for under ten bucks. Burger is the closest to In-and-Out I've had on this side of the country, in terms of everything tasting nice and fresh, and coming out immediately after cooking (the chef brought it himself.) The fries tasted pre-frozen but they came out freshly cooked, hot, and properly seasoned, which is better than you'll get at most fast-serve places.
The place is understaffed and empty, with no music or life to it, but for a restaurant in a grocery store, I wouldn't expect more.
I will definitely be back, whenever I'm missing that In-and-Out freshness.
