As someone who lived in S. Korea for a year and did short trips to Japan and Guam I can attest to the food being delicious and authentic! My husband & I do Thursday date nights, to avoid the crowds and found Izumi to over half full and saw at least 6-8 to go orders served while we ate. I had the steak & shrimp hibachi while my husband had the chicken tempera, both were delicious and we both had to have to-go boxes.
I tried out the chicken donburi and it was pretty good! The battered chicken itself was savory and warm, the eggs were soft and flavorful, and the rice was steamed to perfection. Would definitely come here again!
Clean. (Important to see in a sushi restaurant.) Attentive service. Ordered lunch specials. Nothing out of the ordinary (though they had some interesting sounding rolls on the dinner menu). Fresh, tasty, and satisfying. Above expectations, for sure.
