If you’re ever in need of a late night Friday Night Fish Fry, the Squirrel’s Nest will not disappoint! My husband, mom, and I are visiting my grandma in Madison and needed to show my husband a real Wisconsin experience. We walked in at 8 PM and sat right down and ordered fried wall eye and hash browns with cheese and onions, also served with a dinner roll and cole slaw. If you like hole in the wall bars, this is where you should go. Went in on a Sunday for breakfast. It was busy, but moved quickly. The staff was super sweet. It definitely has the local watering hole feel, where the regulars all know eachother and their families. It's super cute.

We had walleye and catfish and both were excellent!!! I’m hooked on the catfish!!!
Hash browns with cheese & onions, seasoned french fries, cottage cheese and Cole slaw were all great!
The breakfasts and bloody Mary’s are also the best! My favorite is the crab cake eggs Benedict!
