The chicken and jo-jo potatoes are incredible! Whenever we have guests in our home from out of town, we treat them to food from The Beacon! They also have a great selection of alcohol.

Really good (broasted) fried chicken. Fresh, crispy, great (homemade ) jo jos and potato salad. Drove from Wausau and it was totally worth it. It was not anything I thought this would be--it's really a take out restaurant and liquor store now. Not really dine in. The mother/son running this are so darn lovely so if you're in the mood for some fried chicken, definitely consider this one!

Great place to stop in get a drink and order amazing food. The liquor selection is 2nd to none and Mike is very knowledgeable. Val's food is to die for. You will need to be patient and enjoy a drink or 2 at the bar because they make everything from scratch and that equates to taking their time. But the end results are great. If you don't have time to wait I highly recommend calling in Togo order. The broasted chicken is amazing.

The Beacon has a huge selection of beers, wine & liquor, all unique and most local. The food was amazing and Mike was super friendly and helpful. This will be a stop every time we come back to Merrill!
