Agency Cocktail Lounge is in the Dubble Dutch Hotel. All the cocktails are made with really interesting flavor profiles and they clearly put a lot of thought into the menu. Everything on the menu can be made as a cocktail or a mocktail, which was a big treat for me. I had a N/A French 75 with hay (yes - hay!) that was delicious. It’s a very moody atmosphere - 1920s art deco in a historic mansion.
One of the owners was there to greet us - he gave us detailed information about the menu, explained the flavor combinations, made recommendations, and was generally delightful. So was the host. And the bartenders. Overall a lovely experience and we’ll go back again and again.

recently visited Agency and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to poor service.
From the moment we were seated, the service felt cold and unwelcoming. Our server — a man with a man bun — handed us the menu without offering any explanation and only asked if we had questions. What made this feel worse was witnessing the same server at the next table being far more engaging — he explained the menu in detail, mentioned what items were unavailable, and even promoted an upcoming mixologist event. It was hard not to feel overlooked.
To make matters worse, our second round of drinks took about 25 minutes to arrive, despite the lounge not being busy. We observed the bartenders cleaning glassware and wiping the bar rather than making drinks — there was no sense of urgency or attentiveness.
The ambiance and setting of the lounge had potential, but the lack of consistent and respectful service really ruined the experience for us.
Overall: It’s unfortunate when a place that markets itself as upscale delivers such lackluster service. I wouldn’t recommend Agency based on this visit, and I hope they work on providing all guests with equal and respectful treatment moving forward.

You begin with a story. (Depends on current menu) Ours was a love story involving a journey into the ocean. Each food and drink was themed to what the couple in the story encountered. 💕
They do not skip on alcohol content cause you'll definitely be feeling it by the end. 😅 Any drinks can be made non-alc by request. They also gave me a mini shot for my birthday.
Our favorite cocktail was The Sea Witch (Zombie tiki drink spin-off) and the Crenn and Dessert Nachos were amazing!

There is limited food, but what we had knocked our socks off. Intimate setting with innovative cocktails and cocktails. We were checking it out because we have friends who don't drink alcohol. The tasting menu can be shared by two, which is good. A lightweight, one cocktail was enough for me. As a side note, even my frugal husband liked The Agency. We had dessert nachos and he lamented that there was no small spatula for the panna cotta. Reservations are a must.

Agency Cocktail Bar is a true gem in Milwaukee, and our recent visit on July 30th for the launch of their new chapter was one for the books! The creativity here is unmatched. The new cocktail menu is a deep-sea adventure, with drinks inspired by the ocean, and it’s executed flawlessly. My wife and I loved the concept. I ordered the Sea Witch, their fantastic version of a Zombie, and it was a perfectly balanced and potent drink. My wife, who doesn't drink, was thrilled with the option to have a custom NA cocktail that was just as complex and delicious. We also devoured the couscous and dessert nachos, both of which were absolutely outstanding. The mango boba pearls in the dessert nachos were a brilliant touch! The owners clearly have a passion for hospitality, which also shines through at their coffee joint, discourse. We've been there twice in one day and even sought out their popup in Chicago just for a Channel Orange—it's a definite favorite. The staff at both establishments are excellent and friendly. Agency is a can’t-miss spot, and we can't wait to return on our next trip to Milwaukee.
