I went in at lunchtime, service was quick and the food was amazing. I got the Axo Omelet with homemade potatoes. The potatoes were delicious, and the Omelet was great with cilantro and avocado ontop of it. I will be returning as the menu options all sounded so good that I had trouble deciding what I wanted. My next try will be the biscuits and gravy with chorizo! The staff were also really polite and seemed happy to be serving me food, I appreciated that. Its awesome to have some good breakfast place within walking distance from my apartment!

Had a wonderful breakfast at Axolotl. Excited to see a new spot in Bayview, and they did not disappoint. Chilaquiles with the green sauce was fantastic, but you can't go wrong with anything else on the menu.

We tried the chilaquiles and the veggie bowl with a side of berry French toast. Everything was delicious, and the service was great!

Had tried to go opening weekend, but the wait was 40 minutes. But we honestly should have stuck it out, because the food was so good! Tried again for a weekday breakfast before work and had some wonderful biscuits and gravy! The chorizo gravy was yummy, and the biscuits were perfectly fluffy and flaky. Sat at the bar and had a lovely time, though they did try to give me someone else’s chilaquiles on two separate occasions

This is the best new brunch spot in Milwaukee! A friend and I came for Sunday brunch during their soft opening weekend and had the absolute best experience. When you walk in, you are greeted by thoughtful and beautiful traditional decor and art everywhere, an ode to Mexico and Mexico City throughout all corners of the space. It is such a warm and cozy atmosphere, and immediately upon entering, you want to spend the entire morning there with the people you’re with. The cafe tables and bar were filled with a lot of lively energy and conversations buzzing, however throughout our visit I noticed the staff working swiftly to move tables around and accommodate big families coming in so everyone could sit together. Our waitstaff checked on us often during our meal, and were all very warm and friendly. Their food was INCREDIBLE, and I will definitely be coming back for the Mexico City churro toast and the birria chilaquiles. The menu is filled with exciting choices and this is definitely a place to come with friends and family who love to share so you can try as much as possible. Not to mention, the place is so so family friendly and the owner came around offering little Axolotl toys to all the kids! I cannot wait to take my toddler here so she can experience all the warmth and love put into this space as I did with my friend today. Such a welcome addition to Milwaukee, we’re glad you’re here!
