Absolutely loved our meal here. The beet salad had perfect balance, filled pasta dish was really incredible and the pork shop might have just changed my attitude on pork permanently. Can't recommend highly enough.

This was our first time dining at Birch and we truly loved it. We sat at the counter and were able to watch the kitchen team, their culinary skills, and teamwork which was outstanding. For those who have dined at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago and at Chef Curtis Duffy's first restaurant- Avenues (Later Grace and Ever). This reminded my wife and myself of our experiences there which I have always thought was one of the best dining experiences that I have had. We did the tasting menu and wine pairing and the total bill was $390. For those foodies who love to try tasting menus and wine pairings, this is incredible value for the price and I put it on par with many of the top restaurants that O have dined at worldwide. Thanks to the Birch team for such a fun and great experience and we will definitely be back!!!

I've never had a bad experience here, cuisine is ELEVATED and the service is friendly and attentive. Good for out of town guests or before a show the Marcus.

I was there for my wife's work Christmas party. The food was super delicious and the atmosphere was as very nice. We'll definitely go again.

The food was amazing and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food pairings and wine recommendations. He was very attentive as well!

We sat in the bar, which had a great vibe. The specialty drinks were creative and flavorful. The smash burgers excellent. It would be nice if the burger was served with roasted potatoes or roasted sweet potatoes! The grilled beet salad was good. And the chocolate mousse was amazing. We will be back.

Ate at Birch last night and simply put: yum, yum, yum.

From the moment we sat down, the experience was spot on. Our server (sadly I didn’t catch his name 😭) was phenomenal—warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. It was my boyfriend’s first time at Birch, and our server suggested the tasting menu so he could really get a feel for what Birch is all about. Let me tell you… he did not steer us wrong.

We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and started with a cocktail. I was torn between three options, and once again our server swooped in with the perfect recommendation (Squash Goals) based on the meal ahead. Nailed it 👏🏼

Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. Standouts for us were the Steelhead Trout Crudo (did not expect to love it as much as I did) and the wood-roasted grass-fed beef—plus the little surprise that comes with it. The wine pairings were beautifully matched, and the timing of everything—from food drops to wine pours to explanations—was perfectly choreographed.

Atmosphere check: tables aren’t crammed together, music is at a great level, and despite the floor-to-ceiling glass, it wasn’t cold (huge win for someone who is always cold).

When we got in the car to head home, we both said the same thing:
“Wow… that might be the best meal we’ve had in Milwaukee in quite some time.”

Nicely done, Birch. From the hostess to the service to the food and overall experience—10/10, no notes. 👏🏼🍷

Great food and fantastic service. Michael took great care of us. We had the burger which was as good as advertised, and we’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

The quality of the food coming out of this kitchen is worthy of a Michelin star... Or two. Seriously, absolutely zero notes. This isn't just good on a Milwaukee level, this is stellar on a national level. Go before they actually get a star and become much more expensive and impossible to book into.

This review is based on their tasting menu.

That being said, I really really want them to continue to progress, so the following are the things I would do if a Michelin star were my aim:

1. Put more time into menu writing. Include all of the elements of the dish on the menu. Include all of the dishes on the tasting menu.

2. Three of the courses were listed on the menu together and served together. Each was worthy of its own course, it's own space, and should have been served on its own to allow it to be truly savored.

3. Refine the portion size. Or maybe don't? I'm not mad about having more of any of the things I ate, but at the end of the day a tasting menu course should be 3-5 perfect bites. The trout crudo was a perfect example. The ravioli, while an interesting presentation, was way too much.

4. FOH - servers should be able to speak to each dish. They should know the elements front to back from sourcing to preparation to flavor profiles. They are not merely delivery systems, they are evangelists of flavor and curators of experience. This is probably the most glaring opportunity for improvement.

All that being said, well done! This was a meal I will be referencing for *years* to come. The value prop of the tasting menu is insane, and I'm sure I will shortly be dragging every foodie I know through your doors.

This was by far one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. From apps to dessert and can't forget the birch burger! Amazing food and service. Will definitely recommend and will be back very soon!

My husband and I have visited Birch twice in the past 3 months whle vising family in MKE. The atmosphere and service are fantastic, but the food is the real star of the show. We did the tasting menu both times (one in Nov and one on NYE) and bith times the food blew us away with its inventiveness and flavour. I have a dairy allergy and they were able to adapt the menu without losing the creativity. This is a truly special place, beating out even our favourite London restaurants, and we can't wait to come back!

We have been to Birch twice. First time we just ordered off the menu and had a good meal, nothing crazy. The second time we had the tasting menu and it was phenomenal. Totally different experience and so worth the money!

My husband surprised me with a dinner at Birch for our 5 year anniversary and it didn’t disappoint! From the minute we walked in, the service was impeccable and friendly. We decided to splurge the Chef’s Tasting Menu and the experience was unforgettable. We are both extremely critical of fine dining and we had no notes. My husband chose the wine pairing and was visited by the restaurant’s Sommelier, who was very kind and passionate in explaining the story behind the wines. From drinks to dessert, we left feeling like we actually got a deal for the amazing food, drinks, and experience we received. Special shoutout to our waitress, Rachel, who went above and beyond!
