My wife and I ate there last night for the 1st time, it was great food and service. There bourbon selection was very large. I ended up talking to Brent, I think he was the owner, and he was very interesting and infromative to talk about bourbon. My wife and I plan to get back there soon. She loved the Expresso Martini.

The BBQ pork was great! The sides were another story. The mac-n-cheese was more like pasta in milk, and the coleslaw was just not good. I was pretty surprised that the sides could be that bad.

This place is legit. As a southerner, I wish I had found this place earlier because it's real BBQ.

This was a pretty cool place, with friendly service!

They were out of ribs and turkey (which was sad) so instead I had a 2 meat platter with the “pig wings” and brisket. The pig wings are just ribs lol, but they had a delicious rub on them! I had the lean brisket…it was good, but I wish I had gotten the fatty brisket for a little more flavor.

The Mac n cheese was really good! I also had the house made chips, to which I received a massive portion.

They had a lot of beer options, however I just had the root beer which I loved.

OH, GET THE PEANUT-BUTTER PIE….your welcome.

Overall great experience.

No burnt ends today even though I called them the day before and they said they have them available all day. And for reference I'm the only one here on Sunday at 12pm. Max and cheese mushy, potato salad has way too much salt. Only reason I came here was for the burnt ends. Pickles are good though.

The wings may have been the best wings I’ve ever had … and I’ve had A LOT of wings. The old fashioned was phenomenal as well. 10/10 recommend!

I had brisket, it was not as much as I needed however it smoked right, flavorful and the best in Milwaukee besides my Uncles. I will go back.

Frank at DOC's Commerce Smokehouse is hands down the MVP of waitstaff! Not only did he recommend the perfect BBQ combo, but his timing with drink refills was so spot-on, it felt like he had BBQ superpowers. Frank balanced top-tier service with a dash of humor, making our meal even better than we imagined. If you’re lucky enough to have Frank as your waiter, prepare yourself for amazing food and a side of legendary service. Cheers, Frank—you’re a smokehouse superstar!

Big open place with high tops and low tables. We got the pulled pork, turkey, brisket, macaroni and fries. The turkey was a like dry, the pork was cooked perfectly, not very flavorful but was great with bbq sauce. The brisket was the best though and we are tough brisket critics. Sides were decent, nothing special but not bad.

I am my husband we’re going to a show for our anniversary and looking for a place to eat. We love our smoked meats and We came across Doc’s Smokehouse! First impression when we walked inside is the place smelled amazing. We were seated and greeted by our amazing waiter Frank, who explained everything to us. From their style cooking to the choices of meats, we chose to order the three meat plate and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of meat and the flavor. There was no need for sauce. Everything was amazing. Great service from Frank!!! We will definitely be returning.

I was in town for a conference, staying at the Hyatt. The restaurant was right across the street so if you're in downtown or at the Convention Center, this place is super convenient.
Far as the restaurant goes, the staff here is amazing and super friendly. They make sure you're taken care of.
The brisket was fine, and the sides were ok. I may have caught them on an off day, I also judge bbq off of KC and Texas BBQ I've had.
The atmosphere here is cool, perfect is you have a big group. I would recommend if you're downtown and looking for traditional BBQ.

The barbecued meats are of course the specialty and are very good. The sides are not the greatest but not bad. The appetizers all look great; we had the fried pickles and those were well done and very tasty.

Great food and even greater service! Our table ordered a variety of things starting off with the Texas and Alabama fries and ended off with a variety of meats since we ordered the judging table and the three meat plate. The brisket was tender and juicy. Their special consisting of burnt ends is by far some of the best I have ever had. The wings included in the judging table meal were juicy with them being flash fried so the skin was crispy and extremely flavorful due to the seasonings they used. The hot links were so juicy with the most perfect snap. The appetizer fries were scrumptious with a very generous portion.

Now that I have a baby to consider, I am extremely pleased that they had a changing table in the women’s bathroom, which I never thought was a blessing until now. The place is huge, yet inviting, with both high top and low top tables for those with strollers and a bar for those without strollers. The staff was very welcoming and made the experience 100 times better. Doc’s is a great place and would definitely recommend it for anyone craving barbecue.

Kid-friendliness: There is a changing table in the women’s bathroom and I was offered a highchair upon arrival without me asking. The tables are also spacious enough with both high and low top options for those with strollers.
