This is my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee!! Prices are reasonable and they give you lots of food. The food itself is absolutely delicious; best injera I've ever had. Inside is charming and comfy. The waiter/I assume owner is always very kind.

The food is wonderful, but the place needs a deep cleaning and a facelift. It could be so much better. Clean the bathrooms!!! Clean the windows and mirrors. Straighten the pictures on the wall. If you want to get really crazy, a fresh coat of paint in the dining room would go a long way. And considering you serve food to be eaten by hand, a hot finger towel before the meal would be a thoughtful touch.

One of the best eateries Milwaukee has to offer! Amazing food at a good price (expect to feed your whole family) at incredible speed for the low amount of staffing. Service is always courteous and the establishment is always clean and comfortable. Park up the street a block or around the corner if you're eating in as Farwell is always a hassle but the walk is more than worth it!

The food was very good- sadly no honey wine :( Also we ordered lentil sambusas but got beef (and even when the mistake was acknowledged and we were given a new order, they were still beef! 3/3 of us at the table were 100% sure that the filling was ground beef, I don’t think there was any mistake on our part but we did feel there was no point in asking again for a replacement… so I would probably not try ordering that if going vegetarian.) Service was fine (it’s a family business) but it did seem like they could use help.

Missed opportunity to enjoy Ethiopian food and culture. The owner/server of the restaurant is overworked and needs to hire additional help. The food was as expected and the service / cleanliness could be improved.

My husband and I have been coming here for the last 10 years. We always order the vegetarian sample platter for 2 and it's always delicious. When we get a craving for it we just have to go! Highly recommend!

This is the first Ethiopian restaurant I've tried, and I'm addicted. It's family-owned. The food is made with love and is so tasty. Their vegetarian sampler is to die for! Every time I get it, I order the shareable size so I can take it home and eat it all week. I haven't even tried anything else yet (other than the sambusas) because I can't stay away from that sampler. In fact, I may have to order one tonight due to writing this review. ? I always receive friendly service. They were closed for in-house dining for a long time after COVID but I believe it's open again now.

I'm pretty sure this place has gone out of business. I called and emailed to see if they were open, but they never answered the phone & the email bounced back undeliverable.

Probably the worst service in the world. I recently went in for take out, and the guy told me I CANNOT choose my two sides, I was like” what if I’m allergic to collard greens or whatever ? His response was “ not my problem, take your business elsewhere”, which I did and will.Do not go, the bathrooms are disgusting and the people are rude.

We have been here several times, always ordering the vegan/vegetarian combo which is very good. Last time we were very disppointed about the service. We preferred sitting on a table with an 'actual table' instead of the 'African tables' where you need to bend down to more, depending on your height. Several tables were empty but the owner refused to get us seated there. One table would have needed to be clean, the others as we found out after several minutes were reserved. No problem but I didn't like the way we were treated. He said 'We could be thankful that he gives us a table at all since we don't have a reservation.'Sorry for the inconvience we caused when we wanted to dine in your restaurant. We never needed a reservation before. Only three tables were actually used and as the nobody else came for the rest of the evening while we ate. The owner apologized and said the other parties had cancelled.Communication didn't go well and we didn't feel welcomed. We enjoyed the delicious food but we won't come back.
