The food is amazing, and the friendliness of the service is absolutely worth the wait. Everything is made to order, which in of itself improves the food. This is not a FAST FOOD restaurant, a small mom and pop shop and feels like family.

Love that Fred’s is still serving the neighborhood after all these years! I grew up in the Heights and have fond memories of a walkable place to get a burger and custard. While not under the same ownership, Fred’s is still a favorite place of mine. The food is made to order and I PROMISE worth the wait! They employee local teens and provide a great place to learn skills and experience. Bring your dogs! They get treats too! Definitely recommend a stop.. eat your desert before your burger and enjoy a table with your neighbors!

Over 45 minutes for two cheeseburgers. Absolutely insane. Children/teens are running the place. I most definitely won’t be back if I have to wait almost an hour for a burger!

Only 2 people waiting and a 1 hour wait time is horrible I’m not hungry now been coming here, 30+ years don’t like the new way of business sit in 86 degree weather get better service at a 3 star restaurant better yet a custard stand because that’s all it is my family will never return it

Best burger spot in Milwaukee. I can't say enough about it. Smash mouth burger is the best. Cook fresh for you. Chili cheese fries. And the special cist float simply amazing.
