I was visiting from St. Louis, where we have an Italian neighborhood known for it's restaurants and food. We used to have Italian grocery stores on The Hill but nothing like this! We were so ticked that we ate lunch before stopping in here. This place is magical; in-house made gravy with meatballs, bread, meats, pastries, gelato, fun t-shirts anything that you can want in a meal, they have it. It is wheelchair accessible and there are some tables and chairs to sit and scarf...
My dad and I have been visiting Glorioso's for decades. It's always been great. However, we both noticed that their Italian sausage products have declined in quality dramatically over the past 1-2 years. The last batch or two that we bought from the store has stuck to the packaging, gave off more smoke, been tougher, and tastes worse in a more generic, processed way. Excellent selection of Italian goods. They also have gelato, a deli with sandwiches, pizza and flatbreads. Prices are a bit on the high side, but a lot of the items are imported so that makes sense.
