Took my family for lunch on Wednesday while waiting for their flight. Excellent service. Only one waitress but she was great. Food was very good and large portions.
In Plane View is one of those “hidden gems” that I recommend ALL. THE. TIME.
Right across from airport off Layton, nice patio, great bar layout with tons of space, and a great balanced menu.
They like to have fun with what they serve and they pride themselves on homemade - my wife would sell me to the cartel for their ranch. She’s told me on multiple occasions.
They have a smash burger that uses 2 grilled cheese sandwiches for the buns… I mean… come on.
The best part, for me, is the name and the decor. There are other “airplane derived” restaurants in the area, but this is the one that we keep coming back for. Great photos and maps on the wall and the patio is a great vantage to see the T38’s coming back, canopy open after training.
I know that by writing this, it’ll lose some of the hidden gem mentality, but other folks need to come in and try this food. I know it’s a bar, but this is not bar food. There is intrinsic value and quality here.
It was busy the night I was there but the pizza was worth the wait! I will be back ..
Friendly staff. Good food!
Great vibe and ambience! :)
I've been eating the fish fry almost every Friday for the last 4-5 months. It was very good and consistent. But, the fish fry that I just had an hour or so ago was TERRIBLE. There is no other way to put it. The fish had a pungent oder and a bad taste that still lingers on 2 hours later. Also, I can't get the horrible fishy smell off my fingers after washing with soap and water twice. All it takes is one bad meal like this to scare off a weekly customer. I'm hoping this is just an off day. If it is, I'll be back. If this poor quality is a new way of doing their fish, I won't be back. The service was perfect.
German is one of the top bartenders! Food is good!

This is a very casual place but not dive-bar casual. It's a very comfortable atmosphere, with no glitz or glamour - which face it, only adds to the cost of food and drinks. The lighting is actually perfect, not real bright, but not so dim that you can't read the menu...not to mention the menu is printed in a typeface that doesn't require a magnifying glass. The music can be heard so you know what's playing, but low volume so you can speak in normal tones to those at your table.
The service was great. We came in as a group of eight and he was kind enough to put two 4-tops together for us. Our server seemed very nervous and shy at first. New? Never had a large group before? Unknown, but as the night went on, he became more relaxed and social. Our orders were all correct and he was attentive without hovering, asking about refills regularly.
The food is delicious. We had three Reubens ordered, as well as a Rachel, a BYO Burger, Pulled Pork Melt, a Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I had the Shrimp Basket. Everyone just loved everything. There wasn't a disappointed taste bud or tummy in the group. I found the shrimp to be deliciously crunchy yet still very moist on the inside with great flavor. The fries have a coating on them that doesn't change the flavor, but makes them crispier on the outside. Fabulous. And their coleslaw is real tasty with minimal celery seed (you know it's there, but it's not over done like a lot of places). And prices are MORE than reasonable. I'm not a fish eater, but a few in the group said they'd be back to give the Friday Fish Fry a try.
Parking: Overflow street parking if busy.
Kid-friendliness: I personally would not bring kids because it is more of a bar than a restaurant. Not that others would have a problem, just my personal choice.

Flew in a few hours before my daughter came home from work so my wife and I decided to stop in for lunch. What a GREAT place. Food was outstanding. My wife had the wings. I had the cheese curds and the wrap. OUTSTANDING! Hollie was an amazing bartender. We also talked to Danny who is the owner. What a nice guy! Try this place. You are going to love it!

Great quality food that is reasonably priced. The bar/restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly. If you're looking for a friendly atmosphere with great food options this place should be on your short list.
