We held our rehearsal dinner at Sail Loft and it was a genuinely lovely setting for the night before our wedding. The staff was extremely responsive — they answered every question we had (and we had a lot!), both ahead of time and during the event itself. Their flexibility and willingness to help made planning much easier.
The food was pretty good and our guests enjoyed it, though one note for future planners: they ran out earlier than we expected even though we intentionally ordered more than our guest count required. Nothing disastrous, but worth factoring into your planning.
If you’re planning to use their AV equipment, know that the setup is minimal and connecting to the projector took us quite a while. A little more infrastructure or guidance there would go a long way.
All that said, the location is hard to beat. On a warm, romantic summer evening, Sail Loft is exactly the kind of place you want to be celebrating with friends and family — great views, great vibe, and a memorable atmosphere. Overall, a good venue with a lot of charm.

Made a reservation for outdoor/patio seating about a month before I visited this place. When I’d gotten there for dinner, I was told there isn’t outdoor seating cause of weather. It was mildly cool and a beautiful fall day but they didn’t want to accommodate the reservation I’d made. The place was dead, no reservation was even required to be honest. The food was the only positive out of it. The server took forever even though I was one of the two tables taken in the restaurant. Maybe this is just a one off experience but I would definitely not recommend this place

Food and service sucked! We had to go find servers so we could pay and leave. The shrimp dish was salty as hell un edible. The view was stunning out side was the best part.

my family and i had an early dinner here tonight. it wasn't busy at all and i felt like we barely saw our waitress. she kept getting our drink orders wrong (even after repeatedly not writing them down ! ). our food came out pretty fast and it was fair. nothing super memorable. it was definitely overpriced for the portions. about halfway through our meal, several of us were in need of drink refills but our waitress was nowhere to be seen. overall she was very short and curt with us which made our experience very unpleasant. i would honestly go to any other restaurant if you are in the area.

The server we had could get away from the table fast enough and the lobster roll I ordered had no lobster in it. The pictures from others here showed that. Definitely would not recommend as it seems they are looking for the upper class here and frown upon anyone that doesn't dress like they came off a boat

We have been here twice and have had great experiences each time. Very friendly hostess when we walked in, and great service from both of our servers. We’ve been to Sail Loft for both brunch and dinner and the food was excellent. I’ll be craving that breakfast sandwich for weeks!!! So nice to sit outside and watch the boats go by on the water. Parking was easy too. Can’t wait to return!

Very nice dining establishment that sits on the river across Am Fam Amphitheater on Summerfest grounds. Very popularv place on the weekends, often with locals performing live music. The new dinner menu is great, and you can't seem to go wrong with whatever combo you choose for the three course dinner. My buddy and I both had the excellent New England Clam Chowder. Plate two, I had the Seared Tuna Tower, and he, the Maryland Crab Cakes. Both were very good. For our final dish, he had the Lobster Ravioli and I, the Lemon Pepper Seared Mahi Mahi. The Old Bay seasoning on the fries are a treat. I probably enjoyed one too many Eagle Park drafts, which was like drinking a combo of the old Hi-C Ekto-Cooler, Mello Yellow, and a splash of beer. It was refreshing and got me drinky before I knew it. We capped off the night with a couple of cans of Old Milwaukee. Everyone there was friendly and jovial.
Went here for dinner with my wife to play trivia and have dinner. I will say the views of the Milwaukee River were nice and the food was terrific. But it may have had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Took forever to order anything including drinks (they were not super busy being a Monday night) . Then I had to go to the bar and get them myself because our waiter disappeared and they just got left there. Then it took forever to get our food and our bill ( Had to ask another wait person to find our waiter). I would not go here again just based on the service. Could be a great place but the staff kills it

Service was very slow, out of ingredients for signature drinks and dishes, and they weren't that busy. When asked about the slow service the response was that Summer Fest services drained their inventory. Summer Fest was the previous weekend and it was Wednesday. It seemed other tables were being served before us but I didn't ask about that. The food was ok, just ok. The wings were better than the seafood. The restaurant was very clean and people there seemed to be having a good time. The views of the lake are BEAUTIFUL and the music was good and at conversation level.
