This gets 2 stars because of the great bartender. Other than that the bloody mary absolutely was disgusting. Never again. Food, was no good. I do not see how people think this place is anything special. Never again. Terrible food and bloodys.

Amazing hamburgers, lots of TV to watch the games. The Bloody Mary's had an entire separate menu! They can't be missed

Good place but very small
Absolutely AMAZING customer service! My husband & I went in 10minutes before closing- expecting to be turned away like other restaurants would have done. We were welcomed with positive energy and they kept the kitchen open for our burgers. A group of 6 walked in after us… and they even took care of them! The owner was happy and talking with us while helping the bartender. Best customer service I have experienced in a very long time. It’s places like Soblemans that Milwaukee was built on. Wish there were more places like it.
What a great place! It's small, and not too loud. The parking is on the side of a steep hill, so beware. There are LOTS of beers, many of which were previously unknown to me. LOTS of burgers (I had a burger with a slice of sausage on it. Really pretty good.) But the stars are the Bloody Marys. You can get one with an entire roast chicken on it. This is a really fun spot. And I talked with Mr. Sobelman, who assured me that Jeffrey Dahmar did not come here.
Sobelman’s was recommended to me by a Milwaukee area native as a place I absolutely had to check out when visiting the city. There are two locations, including one in Waukesha, but I went to the original on St. Paul Avenue. On a Sunday afternoon during the NFL season the line was quite literally out the door. There was barely standing room inside as we waiting for a table or seat at the bar. We finally got two seats at the bar and I of course had to order one of their famous bloody marys. I went with the Grand Slam Bloody Mary (not on the menu but described to me by our waitress), which features all the their typical fixings plus highlights of all of their menu-item bloody marys: bacon-wrapped chicken slathered in bourbon sauce, bacon cheese cracks, bacon-wrapped cheese balls, and a cheeseburger slider. For $20.50 this is an entire meal in itself and might be the best deal in Milwaukee. I also ordered the beer cheese bacon burger which was amazing in its own right. We had way more than enough food and took boxes home. Our waitress, even with the place being slammed busy, was so friendly and accommodating. Sobelman’s is totally unique and 100% worth any line you have to wait to get inside. I cannot imagine returning to visit Milwaukee without stopping by again and I can’t wait to do so!
So we went there last night when we were in town because we had heard such good things we went in. It was a very packed crowd seemed very nice. We sat down we had a waitress who has not any customer service skills or personality. Mind you we did look on Facebook and on yelp to see reviews and photos. We order our drinks which were bloody marys because that’s what they specialize in the waitress just comes and sits down for beer chasers we had no idea what it was walks away, and then serve our bloodys to us in plastic solo cups like we were at a barbecue for the price you pay we should not be served plastic cups Then we ordered a burger, which had no flavor whatsoever we tried asking for a box at the end repeatedly ignored, found boxes and took care of ourselves. Definitely not a spot. I would recommend nor will. I be repeating service there.
Great food great drinks. Bloody Mary's are excellent.

Good atmosphere and service. Food wasn't good. Bland burgers. The fries were basic. The people were friendly.
Parking: Parking is in a lot. The hill is very steep. Someone who is disabled or has a hard time walking may have a tad bit of trouble getting up and down.
