Solly's Grille Reviews
I came here with my wife and kids, we waited almost an hour after we ordered our food to get cold fries and sloppy burgers in which the toppings were lazily thrown on there. My kids were crying at the point they got their food and I could tell they made their food and let it sit forever instead of making all our food at the same time. Screw the PR Food Network and First we Feast gave this place. It’s a front by lazy boozers.
On the first time I was ever there. We ordered a classic butter burger (slightly larger than a McDonalds cheeseburger, so it's.... small), a grilled cheese, one large fry, 2 sodas.........the total, with tip, was $44. I don't know why they think they can charge that much. I will never return
We were seated right away and wasn’t acknowledged once in over 30 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t even fully busy. We ended up leaving after because we were completely ignored. What once was a favorite from my childhood is NOT the same

Solly's Grille, a James Beard Award winning restaurant and a must stop in Milwaukee, is known for its classic dishes. This classic grill & diner in a historical building offers a unique setting with an undulating counter. The restaurant's excellent butter burger, often topped with cheese, and delicious potato pancakes are highlights. The staff is attentive and the vintage charm of the old-fashioned lunch counter adds to the overall experience. The chocolate malts and signature milkshakes, like Strawberry, are reminiscent of the good old days and come with a full glass and more in the mixer cup. Solly's Grille, a forerunner to other famous restaurants, offers a range of food from butter burgers to homemade pies and onion rings, making it a must-try and definitely worth a detour for those in the area.
