We had to leave before our entree made it to the table. The service started out as expected but after an onion salad and a pate plate; we never saw our main dish. We asked about it and were told it was “in process”, we waited more. Tables around us were served with multiple courses -and they’d ordered much later than our order was placed.
We asked for bread but they’d have to bake it. We asked again how long it would be and was told. It’s in process… not 10...read full review
we were excited to have a date nite here. we waited 90 minutes for our duck dinner. we shared an onon salad and pate plate then waited 45 minutes for the entree.the waitress couldn't tell us when it would be ready. we watched 3 tables that came in after us get their dinners. a real disappointment. this chef has potential but doesn't know how to run a restaurant. we were treated by a rude staff and left
This is the best place in all of Milwaukee to grab dinner.

The Diplomat offers a fabulous dining experience with creative, 5-star food, such as deviled eggs, diplomat fries, tostones, risotto, and burgers. The pickled deviled eggs are a must-try. The cozy 1960's living room ambiance adds to the dining experience. Vegetarian options like the delicious risotto and small plates are available. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was on point. The service is very friendly. The chef is top flight. The food was phenomenal and there is a lot of intention and care that goes into every little part of the experience. The pickled deviled eggs are a must!
