We had a delicious lunch at The Fitz. The special was the Monte Cristo. It was amazing. And the fries were super thin and crispy. I had the potato soup as an appetizer. The sandwich was so big, I had enough for lunch the next day. Our server was super, and we were too full to try the 95th Anniversary chocolate cake. Something for our next visit.

First of all although there were several empty 2-top tables available they put us in between 2 other couples so none of us could carry on a private conversation. There was no bread served with the salads and when my friend asked for crackers at least they brought a package of oyster crackers! The chicken marsala was ok but heavy on the salt. I ordered a Southern Comfort old fashion sweet. It was just okay but when the bill came it was crazy. The drink itself was $9, then there was a $4 charge for a 2oz pour, then another $2 for who knows what, the word 'sweet' was in it. I questioned the waitress and she took it to the bartender. She said the $2 was for what they put in the drink. I asked like what she said she didn't know maybe bitters? Huh? They did take the $4 off but I never did find out what those crazy extras were for. I have never heard of such a crazy bill for a drink. I will not be returning to this place. And certainly won't suggest it to anyone else.

This was new restaurant of the week and I got rock star parking in front of the side doors. The place is in the Ambassador hotel which has the restaurant, bar/Gin Rickey and Starbucks. The restaurant is really nice and upscale with white table cloths, cloth napkins and large art pieces on the walls. Service was great and I was promptly seated and watered. Of course I'm having a Gin Rickey from the bar of the same name with lunch. I wasn't crazy about the menu or the soup of the day, carrot ginger soup but the Milwaukee cheese steak sounded good with frys. It's shaved prime rib, melted provolone, sautéed mushrooms on French bread with an onion au jus. The Gin Rickey was awesome with aged Rehorst barrel Gin and a big cube of ice infused with lime zest. The restaurant had 3 tables in service so my lunch came quick and it looked good. The frys were cooked to order hot with a crispy shell, soft center and seasoned nicely. The au jus was ok but it lacked seasoning and any rich flavor, it looked better than it tasted. The Milwaukee cheese steak was good in fresh toasted bread dipped in the au jus.Overall this was a great place for an adult cocktail with lunch in a fancy restaurant in a nice hotel.

I used to love this place but the last 2 times have been absolutely awful. The bartenders are dishonest and will write in whatever tip they feel like giving themselves. Saw a couple whom overindulged and the bartender took advantage of the situation. So so very sad!!! So disappointed, I realize it’s hard to find help but dishonest help, there is nothing worse!

I stop here before every show at The Rave. The drinks are very affordable and the food is delicious. The bartenders are very friendly and the place is kept very tidy. Highly recommend!

Went on a Saturday afternoon. Bar was quiet, but picked up a bit as we were finishing our food. Our bartender Allie took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. She was very kind and welcoming. We both had burgers and they were fantastic! Perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. Didn’t take very long to come out either. All in all a wonderful spot we did not know existed. Definitely will be back!

Interesting art deco historical hotel/restaurant/bar. Excellent service, food and drinks. Come before an event and take their shuttle to and from.

Nope. We were staying at the Ambassador Inn so we had breakfast here. I Order the French toast (don’t do it) literally two slices of bread with a big ball of butter for 13$ and not even good. My husband had the egg Benedict and nothing special note greasy and not great flavor. Probably we just made poor choices. Good service tho.

I don't know if there were having an off day or what. I'd like to give 2.5 stars. Felt like diner food trying to be fancy. Only 4 tiny half slices of French toast, tasted good tho. Sandwich was v greasy but ok. Oatmeal pretty good. Service ok. Kinda rough neighborhood. Wasn't feeling this restaurant.

I have traveled to the Ambassador Hotel twice recently. I had supper at The Fitz. My drinks were outstanding. The chicken wings and Turkey burger were very good. Lindsey the bartender is engaged with every guest and other servers were awesome. Just the staff service is enough for a repeat!

Between the waiter getting progressively meaner and the food being unbalanced to the point of being inedible, I actually spat out a bite of sour orange and left.
