We stopped in with friends while visiting Mercer over a four day weekend and to say the least we weren't disappointed. Our first impression of the outside pulling up wasn't much... However, the inside is quite exceptional. Such a warm and cozy environment decorated with such detail. Dark woods ornamented with unique hand picked decorations fill the place. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon but there still was plenty of room for us to sit. We were seated near the back of the establishment and our server was quick to get us menus and to take our orders. The drinks came out relatively fast and were priced competitively with other similar establishments in the area. We went out back to check out the grounds persay and were surprised to find a creek and wooded area that added to the ambience of the place. We didn't eat there that day, but all agreed the food we saw both offered and being consumed at other tables looked delicious. We will definitely return the next time in town.

Found this place on accident last year. I drove my family 38 minutes in the opposite direction of our cabin so we could go back this year. I love this place. Good tap beer, they make a good old fashioned, really good steak, Hungarian mushroom soup is delicious, great service, great atmosphere, nice view, clean, comfortable, perfect. I can’t wait to go back!

First time I've ever been in this little place and it is adorable. The food was awesome and our bartender/server was a very nice guy. And the total price for the meal was not bad for three adults.

Actually have never been there, but definitely going soon! I did notice that some of the "1" reviews bitching about the Black Bear receiving Covid money were from people from New York, Virginia, etc. so I'm guessing they never stepped into the place. Hoping that people give them a fair chance. It's tough enough to run a restaurant/bar without Haters trying to wreck your business.

Good place to eat lunch. I had a salad it was good. My sister had a Rueben and she liked it a lot. Beautiful location. I will try and go back in the summer and sit outside by the river. I would eat here again if in the area.
