“Was worried when we bought a lake house up here that I wouldn’t find proper espresso in the area but bottled bean has it all- a really good grilled cheese, very good coffee, wine and beer, wifi, a good atmosphere, nice people. It’s already become my new daily go-to and I know it will be a fundamental aspect of life up here moving forward. Thanks for existing and being awesome! My north woods dreams are complete.”

“spending Spring break in Minocqua with family. Tried a new to us Pizza place. if you have not tried Minocqua Pizza you have got to give it a try. I must say one of the best pizza's🍕 I have had. We tried the Mac and ches, chicken bacon ranch, BLT and an order of Billy bread. The whole family was unanimous, great pizza. we will definitely be back.”

“Usually we try to avoid the tourist areas, we stopped here for breakfast on Sunday morning. We’ve driven past for years but decided to stop. Very nice diner style restaurant with a clean well lit interior. Friendly staff greeted us quickly with some waters. Large portions at a great value. The Greek omelette was fantastic, I recommend the humus, it has an amazing flavor. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“so good!!! I tried gelato for the first time, love it. the awesome lady who was working today made sure we got samples of anything we wanted to try first, and suggested we got two flavors to combine, which we each did. 10/10!!”

“The owner is lovely! I decided to try the lemon poppy seed cake with the Monk fruit (healthier option instead of sugar). It was no good. Very expensive for a tiny slice, but the slice was so dry it was not edible. I think the flavor was good, but maybe because it sits out it dries up or maybe it needs sour cream to moisturize it.
However, I also got the bread pudding and that was amazing!!!! Moist and delicious.”

“We enjoyed a most wonderful dining experience last night at Knotty Barrel. Taylor was our server & she was excellent. All of our dinners were delicious, and we loved everything. They have a salad bar which was amazing as well, you don’t see these very often anymore, such a nice surprise. The atmosphere was so quaint, classic up north feel. We will definitely be returning!”

“We came in this past weekend as a group of 14 guys for a bachelor party and Jay and Rachel (could have that name wrong - sorry if so) took great care of us. Food was great, service was friendly (even as we came in close to closing) and we had a lot of fun chatting with some regulars and Jay. Highly recommend this joint to anyone looking for good food, drink, and hospitality!”

“We vacation in the Northwoods fall and winter, and "The Whale" is almost always our first stop when we hit town around Suppertime on our way into town. FIRST, our server Sophia, was wonderful...on the ball, quick, friendly. This year, we noticed a couple changes that we didn't care for. The problems were (1) we were there on a FRIDAY, and the "Friday Fish Fry Menu" doesn't give people many food choices if you don't want fish, shrimp, or clam chowder. I had my heart (and stomach) set on their DELICIOUS sandwiches that come with their home-made chips and Au Jus dip. There used to be at least TWO of those on the menu...they were no longer offered on Friday nights. (2) We opted for the Friday Fish Fry, and were asked if we wanted tarter sauce and/or a couple other choices. I said YES to regular Tarter, and my wife took that AND the Honey/Mustard. When our bill arrived, we found that we were CHARGED $0.75 for EACH of those. REALLY? I've never been to a place that didn't include a lemon slice and tarter sauce by default as a normal part of the fish-fry plate.”
