“Stopped in yesterday for our first visit as we heard they have delicious burgers. We were not disappointed. The food was great but what stood out more was the service. They treated us like friends and made us feel so welcome. We will return again and again”
“Our new favorite bar in town. Our cabin was way too hot and we found this place to cool off. Dog friendly for our Enzo. Great dart set up for any serious players and good billiards space. Even met Happy himself and was a great hang. We'll be back.”
“Great visit! Both bartenders were really nice and efficient. I was there around open on Saturday, and geez the place was busy to begin with. I will be back next time in town.Only wish they had a few more options in a "session style ale or lager".”
“This is a “Must Stop” when in the area! There was a lot going on when we were here. Everyone was friendly and talkative, even though we had never met them. Bartender was cool. Atmosphere was off the hook Northwoods!”
“Enjoyed some nice Family time here tonite. Food was GREAT! We ordered a Pizza and Burger with Fries. The kids really liked the place. We will make the drive to Bowl and Eat again! Staff was friendly and took care of us and the kids with a smile!”
“Great Northwoods Bar. Came in for fish fry Friday but we were to early it started at 4 pm. Was disappointed until I tried the burger I ordered, it was a great burger! With chips and dip! That was a nice side something different! The server was very friendly! We had a very nice time!”
“Great authentic Thai food. Highly recommend the Pad Thai.Owners provided excellent service. The atmosphere is very cute. Mostly countertop seating against the walls, only a couple of tables so not a good spot for large groups but perfect for if you’re on your own or with a friend.Parking: Limited parking lot that was full when I was there but plenty of street parking around”
“We arrived later than planned; just before they were closing. They were pleasant and courteous. The food and conversation were fantastic. Will definitely be going back!”
“The thin crust pizza is ahhh-mazing! Might even be the best pizza I’ve ever had! Too bad it’s so far from where I live (maybe they’ll consider opening one in GB some day) ?”
“So enjoy this independent and original coffee shop. Located in an old bank building they serve ☕ and espresso based drinks as well as iced Lotus. Bakery is yummy - especially the buttermilk bran muffins. Breakfast and lunch items are made to order and fresh. The Breakfast Wrap is delicious and you can eat it with one hand- unlike the Breakfast Sandwich which is a wonderful mess and quite filling. Staff is quirky and attentive.”
“First time going, lived up here for 10 plus years, amazing meal and drinks. The NY strip was amazing and cooked just the way I like it.My date had Moroccan noodle chicken dish, to which she also enjoyed alot.130 dollar bill for 2 people, I didn't realize a burnt sugar old fashioned sour with crown apple 12 a piece I had 2 and she had one old fashion that was 7 dollars, not complaining, i just know we normally pay 75 to 100 but have more then 3 drinks in total, after eatting like every where in the u.p. north woods, this is the most priced up place around”
“Our food was ready within 15 mins. The employee was thorough and friendly. The food (Meatball Sub and Cowboy Burger with French Fries) were out of this world! The prices were reasonable too.”
“I’ve been picking up Chinese here since the pandemic, and they are the best in town! The few times I ate in restaurant were also amazing. The staff is friendly and fast. The moo goo gai pan is a must along with the crab rangoons!”
“I don't want anyone else to know about this hidden gem. We found it after several of the areas famous supper clubs were booked over a week out. And boy, were we glad they were. This wasn't just the best meal I've had in the 20+ years of coming to the area. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Beating out even some restaurants in Italy. The atmosphere feels warm and inviting with a pretty limited amount of tables. But this just added to the feeling that you stepped inside a portal to a mountain town in Italy. The decor is beautiful and perfectly curated. The service was so great. We happened to get sat after two LARGE parties, so understandably, we had to wait perhaps a bit longer than normal. However, again, this just made it feel like a restaurant in Europe that doesn't take away your plate and bring you your check before you're finished chewing. And once the food came... none of the wait mattered. I honestly, would have waited as long as they needed for how good the food was!We ordered the strawberry champagne soup, which was fresh and refreshing. And then we ordered steak and the chicken milanase. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and intentionally put on the plate. We've already been back, and it lived up to the hype again. Leave a message and they will call you back for a reservation. Or don't.. that way it won't stay as busy and we can visit again as soon as we're in town. :)Dietary restrictions: Severe dairy allergy that they were more than generous in making accommodations.Kid-friendliness: This is more a date night spot, but they were incredible with our 5 yr old and made her feel like the VIP table.”
“Food and drinks were delicious! I had the Chicken Enchiladas with Tequila veggies and Mexican Cole Slaw. All of it was great. Never had cole slaw like it before, I am a fan. Super cute place as well. Copper tooled ceiling and copper accents, it had a wonderful, warm, inviting vibe. Nice selection of Tequilas and hot sauces!”
“Delicious food, big portions, and reasonable price! They were short staffed and busy as all get out when I went but service was good and the atmosphere was positive. Highly recommend!”
“This is the best fish fry period! Everything and I mean everything is homemade, the tartar, the Cole slaw, the beans, the potato salad..Nothing is out of the container of Sisco! If it had a different atmosphere, you'd never be able to get in here....it's a smaller cafe, with alcoholic drinks, but not a big bar atmosphere ..I'd prefer the quality of food rather than a supper club setting....food is OUTSTANDING!”
“Incredible beer selection, great craft cocktails and an endless supply of fun games. Throwing axes, shuffleboard, darts, pool, ping pong, foosball, ring toss, bags, they have it ALL!!!! The great staff is the icing on the cake!”
“A big shout out to the owner for letting me take up all the front parking spaces today when my car blew a tire. Next time I’ll for sure come in and have a bite.”
“Stopped in for a drink early afternoon weekday. Got to talk with the owner and ended up having a wonderful time.Personal opinion, some of these negative reviews misrepresent this place. We reallyEnjoyed our time, the food, and our drinks”
“Had a Frost Bite, which was so yummy. I'm old school, so paying 11.00 for 1 drink was expensive. I've heard a lot of good reviews, so I had to check it out.”
“Excellent food with a limited menu (usually two or three items) that change daily and great atmosphere. Every meal we’ve had there has been excellent. Home cooked food and excellent drinks.”
“Kobe Sushi has been a favorite ever since having to drive all the way to Wausau to visit! You wouldn't think sushi this good would be found this far North! Very sweet family, too.”
“We've been customers of Great Northern since their beginning. We were happy to come back again 2 days in a row after moving from the area. It's great to see Joy still going strong with their business. The staff was friendly. Drinks were great. We really appreciated how accommodating they were with gluten and dairy allergies. Thank you! We wish you many more years of success in your business.”
“We love Whitman’s! Great fish fry, burgers, wings and curds!! Service is always very friendly! Food is delicious, always piping hot! If you haven’t been there, give it a try you will not be disappointed! Great Northwoods bar!???”
“Legend's the bar is where you walk in a stranger and leave as a friend. Make sure to rest your stomach and cheeks because you be laugh hard all night. And your cheeks will hurt from smiling”
“I am a new tourist in Minacqua and I decided to go eat at one of the 3 Mexican restaurants and I made the best decision by trying one of their dishes (garlic shrimp) ? the service is very friendly with their customers ?”
“Turn down your pizza oven. I can wait 5 more minutes. You burnt my crust and my cookies. How are your hours 3.5hrs a day? You will never have a successful Pizza business with hours like that. I can tell this is a side business by how this is ran. Good luck. Throwing my punch card away.”
“We stopped in with friends while visiting Mercer over a four day weekend and to say the least we weren't disappointed. Our first impression of the outside pulling up wasn't much... However, the inside is quite exceptional. Such a warm and cozy environment decorated with such detail. Dark woods ornamented with unique hand picked decorations fill the place. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon but there still was plenty of room for us to sit. We were seated near the back of the establishment and our server was quick to get us menus and to take our orders. The drinks came out relatively fast and were priced competitively with other similar establishments in the area. We went out back to check out the grounds persay and were surprised to find a creek and wooded area that added to the ambience of the place. We didn't eat there that day, but all agreed the food we saw both offered and being consumed at other tables looked delicious. We will definitely return the next time in town.”
“This place sells pizza that you take home and make in your oven. However my oven was broken. The two people working were very old, I’d guess in their 80s, and were super nice. Like beyond nice. They made my pizza for me and I fed my kids. The pizza was also quite good. Such nice people.”
