“My husband and I were craving a fish fry and just happened upon this place on our way through to Wausau. We were both very pleased to be seated by the window overlooking the lake. The interior is classy, our service was fantastic, the food came fast and delicious! We had calamari and walleye bites appetizers. We both enjoyed the fish fry we were craving.“
“Love this place! Sheri tempts with an interesting menu and serves excellent-quality food at fair prices. There is plenty of seating overlooking the lake. This is one of our favorite places to dine in Minocqua. Also they have a great salad bar in the evening.“
“Pretty solid stop passing through up north. Embodies a proper Irish pub.Food: they’re known for their Ruben sandwiches/wraps. It was pretty good. Huge serving for $16. $3 to swap chips for fries - which are absolute crack. We also got the fried cauliflower for an app - def a recommendation. Now, id stay away from there wraps here. Partner wasn’t a fan - a bit vinegary and bland.Service: it all ended up working out. She wasn’t real focused and making her job a lot harder than it had to be. Nothing terrible though.Atmosphere:Such a cool spot. Plenty of dark hard wood throughout. Big bar. Large booths. Lots of late sunshine pokes in too.“
“The food was really good. Cheese curds and pretzel bites were on point! Kids weren't keen on the crispy fries, but I liked them. Chowder and the Blackened Grouper were very tasty.Excellent service and kid friendly atmosphere!!Kid-friendliness: Lots of arcade type games and the view kept the kids entertained.“
“This is my family's go to place for family holidays, reunions, and for when I visit the area. The water view is calming and peaceful also. The menu options are definitely more "upscale" in comparison to some of the other Tomahawk area bar and grills.I might be bias towards Willow Haven though since I used to spend time as a child camping or fishing in the area. The service is also remarkable, friendly, and at times comes with a side of humor which makes Willow Haven even more welcoming..Kid-friendliness: I visited often as a kid, so I think it is still kid friendly. They would even make us Shirley temple drinks. As an adult who doesn't drink the bartender was still able to make me mocktail.“
“Crickets food is great! Chris and John make you feel comfortable and always treat you well. Cindy is one of the best bartenders that make any true Wisconsin drink outstanding. Broasted Chicken the best in the midwest and the Chicken Alfredo is absolutely delicious. Better then some high end restaurants!!! Not the greatest atmosphere on the outside, but don't judge them by their cover.“
“First visit to Lake Placid Inn was fun & delicious. Love the authentic "honesty" and relationship building. The sweetest thing you may encounter is the complimentary donut holes. I had the Loons Nest(formerly the Weed Bed) smothered in sausage gravy, bacon, raisin toast, with a perfect Bloody Mary. She had the eggs Benedict with ham. Served piping hot, our food was delicious. We enjoyed the "entertainment" almost as much as our food. If you're into "Hi, my name is ____, I'll be your server today" - this is not your place. If you like Seinfeld, you'll probably enjoy Lake Placid Inn. Hope I don't see you there as I don't like to wait.“
