“Walked in & Anna the bartender was phenomenal from the gate. Very personable & very in tune with all the patrons. Up beat & smiles. Gave us menues, we ordered, gave us sample of chili. The bomb. Food non of us we the least bit displeased. All of our food & drinks rocked solid yum!! Kudos to the cook & Anna for the great experience!!! We'll be coming & you all should stop!!“

“Got to town after a long flight, this was the first place I went. This juicy burger was a magnificent start to a much needed vacation. It was locally sourced butcher meat cooked to a perfect medium rare, the perfect burger. Toasted bun, hot fries, at my table minutes after I ordered.
Wonderful atmosphere, the regulars and staff interacted with each other like a family, and I got to join it for about an hour on a Saturday. I’ll be here again on my way out of town, highly recommended.“

“I used to strictly use the curbside service, but this summer has had the friendliest staff on record that I look forward to coming in to dine, even if I’m by myself. (Forgive me if I mess up names, but I want to give credit) Your J1 workers tell me every single visit “Bless you”, Savanna makes the best concrete mixers, like just perfect, you can actually hear Allison’s smile through the drive through speaker, Sky on registers is just naturally welcoming and always has the best suggestions that I’m convinced of an upgrade every visit (sig sauce on a burger, YES!), Abby (or Annie?) is constantly helping her staff and seems like a great support. I want to give a shout out to the owner for running a place that obviously cares about their employees to the point that they can genuinely care about their customers.
Call me sentimental over fast food, but I’m a fan of this store. Keep it up!“

They didn't charge for my extra 2 beers and a shot. Absolutely. Make sure to check this place out. Fifteen dollar rib specials with chicken wings on tuesdays“

“We vacation in the Northwoods fall and winter, and "The Whale" is almost always our first stop when we hit town around Suppertime on our way into town. FIRST, our server Sophia, was wonderful...on the ball, quick, friendly. This year, we noticed a couple changes that we didn't care for. The problems were (1) we were there on a FRIDAY, and the "Friday Fish Fry Menu" doesn't give people many food choices if you don't want fish, shrimp, or clam chowder. I had my heart (and stomach) set on their DELICIOUS sandwiches that come with their home-made chips and Au Jus dip. There used to be at least TWO of those on the menu...they were no longer offered on Friday nights. (2) We opted for the Friday Fish Fry, and were asked if we wanted tarter sauce and/or a couple other choices. I said YES to regular Tarter, and my wife took that AND the Honey/Mustard. When our bill arrived, we found that we were CHARGED $0.75 for EACH of those. REALLY? I've never been to a place that didn't include a lemon slice and tarter sauce by default as a normal part of the fish-fry plate.“
