Knotty Barrel Supper Club

This place is a little slice of heaven up north. The Knotty Barrel has some of the BEST food ive ever had. I hate seafood, but the crab cakes here are so delicious!

We had a reservation at 6:30, we were seated, it took about 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. The bussers must have wiped the table, and put the menu’s on right away, the menus were wet, and stuck to the table. She finally came to get a drink, and an appetizer order. Our appetizers came first. I received the most awful chocolate martini (they took it off the bill). My daughter got a root beer in a bottle, and was never offered a glass.
The chicken in her picatta was over cooked. We paid $11 for a loaf of bread, that was salty, and not warm. Actually, none of the food was hot. 2 queen cut prime ribs, not warm. 2 small baked potatoes, not warm, no one prebussed, or checked on how our meals were. Btw, they were steady, not packed.
For the prices they charge, the lack of of service, and the quality of the food was disappointing. I don’t like to leave reviews, however, we won’t be back. So disappointed.

I loved the decor and service was good, could have come back to see if we wanted refills on cocktails,
The salad bar was fabulous, that was about it... salmon had an option to be blackened, was not at all blackened, they sprinkled blackened seasoning on top of the fish and that was awful, very salty, and prime rib was under seasoned no rub, nothing.
Kinda disappointed, they need to be schooled on how to blacken.

Our waitress Taylor P was good and checked in with us, my concerns is with the bar tender Rick L who I saw on several occasions trying people drinks with a straw, I know not the end of the world but several times I watched him try 2-3 drink at the same time WITH THE SAME STRAW! Why in gods name would he put a straw in his mouth then proceed to put it in another drink and think that’s okay? When making my drink he looked right at me paused then put some juice on his hand and tried it then put it into my drink. Only after coughing in the same hand. I’m sure the health inspector would have a field day with him there. He is sloppy and unsanitary. Please remove him from behind your bar!

The food was excellent! The Maryland style crab cakes were the best we've ever tasted. The warm bread service was also delicious. For dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate fondant cake. Highly recommend!
Amy found us a table right away, even though it was very busy. Our server, Cam, was very attentive, friendly and personable.
We will definitely be back!!

I saw a review that mentioned the Chicken Picatta was really good, so I ordered it. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The dish should have been called pasta picatta with chicken. The chicken was an overcooked very dry full breast with no sauce and no hint of lemon. It was garnished with a 1/2 wedge of lemon on top.
However, the pasta was tossed with a traditional lemon sauce and lots of capers.
It’s unfortunate because the service was outstanding, the entire staff was very personable and friendly and the salad bar (included with your entree) and soup was really good.
I’m hoping it’s just a “start up” thing and with honest reviews they will make the necessary adjustments because it has the potential to be a great addition to Minocqua.

This place was great amazing service and everyone was so kind. The chef was so great and made a special meal for my allergies(which was great). The food came out very quick and they were very accommodating. They changed multiple meals for my allergies and had the best staff. Taylor was so nice and very helpful with recommendations on food. She had the chefs make special meals for me and was amazing. Highly recommend this place(great food, great service, and great atmosphere)

Love the northwoods vibe! Food was great! Ordered a Gimlet made to perfection & had an AMAZING grasshopper for desert! Staff we’re knowledgeable about allergies and informed me about which options on the menu were safe.

First time at the Knotty Barrel, and we were very impressed. It was a Friday night and they were very busy. We got the last seats at the bar and had two different types of their fish fry. Both were excellent to go along with a great salad bar. The service was fast, friendly, and professional. We will be back!

We had an uncommon Friday night out, and thought we would check out the new Knotty Pine…The rustic club atmosphere reminded me of clubs back in the big city. Everyone in our group had great things to say about the food, and the cocktails were high class.
If you are looking for a night out in the Northwoods, you won’t be disappointed if you reserve your spot here!

We had such a great experience at The Knotty Barrel! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and the food and drinks were fantastic—but what really made the visit special was the outstanding service from Rick.

Rick was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. He had great recommendations and made us feel like valued guests the entire time. It’s rare to find someone who goes above and beyond with such genuine hospitality, but Rick absolutely did.

We’ll definitely be back soon—and will be asking for Rick again!
