First visit to Lake Placid Inn was fun & delicious. Love the authentic "honesty" and relationship building. The sweetest thing you may encounter is the complimentary donut holes. I had the Loons Nest(formerly the Weed Bed) smothered in sausage gravy, bacon, raisin toast, with a perfect Bloody Mary. She had the eggs Benedict with ham. Served piping hot, our food was delicious. We enjoyed the "entertainment" almost as much as our food. If you're into "Hi, my name is ____, I'll be your server today" - this is not your place. If you like Seinfeld, you'll probably enjoy Lake Placid Inn. Hope I don't see you there as I don't like to wait.

Try this quirky place. Down a winding country road. Great breakfast. Entertaining server with a sense of humor. Simple food expertly prepared. Might have to wait but worth it. A real Northwoods experience that was delightful!
