Awesome bar/restaurant right in the heart of downtown Minocqua!! Friendly staff and GREAT pull tabs and slot machines. The ambiance is amazing! One of my favorite watering holes up North. Can't wait to visit again!

Had our worse fish fry there! Fish so salty couldn’t eat it! French Fry’s floating in moisture from fish. Ordered saying watch the salt please cause past too salty ! My beer was good! Will not be back ! We are done!
I've had a cabin in the Minocqua area for nearly 25 years. Last night I decided to try a fish fry at T Murdaugh's Pub in downtown Minocqua for the first time. I ordered a beer which was served in a frosty glass. Nice! I then ordered the all you can eat fried pollack with fries. My wife ordered the broiled fish and asked our server if she could tell her more about it. My wife does not like haddock. Our server in a somewhat condescending tone said, " what do you want to know, it's broiled". My wife asked what type of fish it was and had to read for herself in the menu that it was haddock.
Shortly after placing our order our server returned with a cup of clam chowder. The chowder was very good. Just before our dinners arrived I was asked if I would like another beer. I responded yes and and was promptly served.
When our dinners arrived I first picked up the rye bread. It seemed stale to me like it had been left out in the open for a long time. When our server returned to ask how things were, I mentioned the bread seemed like it had been out since 10 in the morning. She quickly exclaimed " well that's impossible since we don't open until 11". I said, "ok, my bad would it be possible to get another piece". She left the table and quickly returned without any bread saying "that is the best she could do". I said "ok", removed the bread from my plate and finished my 2 pieces of fried pollack and fries. The pollack was good not hot and a little on the dry side. I ordered extra tarter which they charge for.The fries were short on quantity and not my favorite type. The coleslaw was pretty standard.
When our server returned, instead of asking us if we would like more fish she said, "can I clear these plates" I would have had more fish but since I wasn't asked I felt like I would again be bothering her so we decided to leave.
When our bill was presented I noticed it was missing a charge for a second beer and I called this out to our server. She didn't say anything so I paid for the extra beer and gave a 20 percent tip.
I rate restaurants as "poor" (never going back), "ok" (I can eat the food but would rather eat at home), "good" ( somewhat tasty but not on my short list) and "fantastic" (can't wait to come back!). T Murdaugh's fell at the very bottom of good slightly above ok. Unfortunately it looks like I missed on this one.
Great place to grab lunch and a few beers. The sandwiches are dynamite, and the service is fast and polite!

The food was very good, but we expected that the menu would have included several Irish food selections, which it did not.

I was excited that they have broiled fish as well as deep fried battered. Both were great. We arrived as things were moderately busy and ate at the bar. It was Packer game night so it got busier and louder as it approached game time. We expected that and were glad we were nearly done as things changed.
Food was great and my first fish fry in some time because I can't do the battered. Appreciate greatly this option.
One thing my husband laughed about was that while his was all you can eat fish, an extra tartar sauce was charged at .25. Can only imagine there's a sound reason for that. We will definitely return when we head back to Minocqua.

WENT THERE FOR A FISH FRY AND THE FISH WAS GOOD. THE WORST THING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS IT THE NOISIEST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. THEY HAVE RIDICULOUSLY TOOOOOO MANY TELEVISIONS AND THEY HAVE THE VOLUME UP AS HIGH AS IT GOES AND EVERY TV ON A DIFFERENT CHANNEL. THAT IS INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAD TO SCREAM AT THE WAITRESS SO SHE COULD HEAR US!! THERE IS NO SENSE IN MORE THAN ONE TV!!!!
