Mac was amazing! Hi energy. Great smile. Great recommendations!
The place is scheduled to close October 31 for a major remodel. Today’s service was absolutely terrible. The gentleman at the host desk was totally inadequate. 3 parties totally 12 people walked out behind us because of the lack of service. The waitress was very courteous but mentioned it was her last day. She made the afternoon a little more enjoyable. Food was good and the view on the water was outstanding

We enjoyed an excellent meal here and they serve superior Coke products! The filet mignon was prepared perfectly. the dining room is uniquely decorated and the bar is absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend The Boathouse!

Food was good, but service was less than desirable. Ordered 2 cocktails before the food, however, one of the drinks didn’t arrive until after we were finished with our meal.

Get the steak Diane, you will thank me. If you want a food religious experience get the Hungarian Mushroom soup.

First time to Minocqua and saw this great restaurant on the lake. We were greeted by a wonderful hostess (Heather) and seated in the beautiful porch area facing the lake. Had a very friendly server (Mercedes). We were welcomed with delicious cheese and crackers, enjoyed great drinks and thoroughly enjoyed their Hungarian Mushroom soup (outstanding!) and I had the ‘Lure’ salad with grilled chicken. It was amazing! Service was spectacular as was the food and atmosphere and views. Highly recommend! Fresh bread with the soup too. 😊

Our dinner started very good. We were seated quickly and the waitress was very prompt. Our delicous dinners came. We were all very satisfied. But our waitress never came to check on us once. We sat there for 45 minutes waiting for our bill. My husband went to the hostess stand to see if we could pay there. Nope. Our waitress had to handle it. She continued to take care of other tables. We asked the bus girl to grab our waitress. The waitress finally came and we paid the bill. She never apologized. We left her no tip on a $270. We are normally big tippers. We were walking out and she chased after us. She asked if there was a problem. We said yes. We told her she ignored us for 45 minutes. She denied it. We explained that we sent the hostess and the bus girl to send her to our table. She insisted that she took care of us. We all told her in unison that she didn't. She turned around and stormed off. My husband told her she missed out on a good tip. We left in shock. We couldn't believe how she lied and then proceeded to argue with us. What a horrible waitress. What a shame because it was a great dinner. Probably won't go back again.
Visiting. Looking for a nice place for lunch. Web looked good. Walked in; several empty tables waiting to be bussed. Waited about 15 minutes. No hostess greeting. Nobody acknowledged us. Asked for a manager. Not one on site. Left and went to a Mexican place with immediate seating. Won't be back to the boathouse.
We waited over 90 minutes for a table, when initially we were only told 45 minutes. We understood businesses can be busy, however both the bartender and hostess were rude and dismissive. There were plenty of empty tables, and staff. We tried to be understanding, but the staff were less than hospitable, we felt more like disruptions than patrons. Would not recommend
Menu and overlooking the lake sounded great. Don’t bother going. Prices are supper club prices without the quality. We order the specials. Grilled prime rib and blackened mahi mahi with baked potatoes. Went on a Monday evening- not terribly busy. Bar staff: nice and prompt. The old fashions for $15 should not be made with “old crow” bourbon- ugh. We upgraded but that is steep. Madison restaurants don’t even charge that for rail. Wait staff- pleasant. Gave us the run down of specials and then we ordered. She never came once to check on us after our food was delivered and we waited forever after we were done before she came out with our bill. I will say she did comp our bill when we provided the food feedback. Food: prime rib was over cooked- it was ordered medium and was well-done. Mahi mahi ok not great bland. Let’s talk baked potatoes… ugh awful. Like there were made 5 days ago and re-heated in the microwave- tough hard and tasted gross. All in we spent $130 bar and food. Definitely not worth that for two people. Think everyone may need some training kitchen and wait staff.o
I love this supper club because of good food and atmosphere but have to say this time I was a little disappointed in a few things. They used to serve sals with your meal and now that has ended. We were also sitting at the bar prior to our meal and a couple of my family members ordered vodka lemonade. They were very weak drinks for what they cost. My steak was very good but my other family members thought the fish was average.
