My college buddy and I stopped in for a drink after touring and shopping. It's been years since I last stopped in (and I believe ownership has changed since then). While I was closing up my dad's old house I would frequently come for lunch or dinner -- but I never sat down for a drink at the bar, and I wasn't Yelping back then -- so this is a first review for me even though it's not my first visit. The back bar is beautiful. I don't know if it's original or something resurrected from another long gone establishment, but I like it a lot. And after scanning the bottles it's apparent that they have just about everything and therefore should be able to make whatever drink a customer might want. My friend spotted a top shelf bourbon he was interested in and asked for a pour, neat. The pour was ample and the price was fair. He enjoyed it. I perused their "signature drinks" menu and selected one that appealed to me. Unfortunately the bartender didn't know how to make it and had to consult a recipe. Once mixed and served, the drink was fine and I enjoyed it. But, in my opinion, if an establishment is offering signature drinks or dishes, the bartenders and chefs, even if recently hired, need to know the recipes by heart (or at the least, not let the customers know that they are checking out the recipe). Professionalism is important for me, no matter what the business may be.

My husband and I were craving a fish fry and just happened upon this place on our way through to Wausau. We were both very pleased to be seated by the window overlooking the lake. The interior is classy, our service was fantastic, the food came fast and delicious! We had calamari and walleye bites appetizers. We both enjoyed the fish fry we were craving.

This is our “rib go to” place. We have been coming here for almost 2 years now. The cod fish fry was delish!!! And our waitress, Kennedy was THE BEST! She was on the ball and helpful, and friendly!! Must try this place. You will go back.

Ordered a prime rib sandwich, what I got was salty tough sliced beef. Drinks seemed overpriced.... The view is nice.

The lure salad and mushroom soup were great. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was inviting with a great view of the lake. It's on the pricier side but worth it.

Took advantage of this unseasonable weather and drove from Hayward to enjoy the sights and get a nice lunch in Minocqua. First thing to say is that it's a beautiful spot to enjoy a meal with the views of the lake (in this case, some kids enjoying ice skating and hockey). Second is that despite being clearly understaffed, our waitress was absolutely wonderful and did a great job of taking care of us. Third is that we enjoyed a very nice lunch (calamari, shore lunch, shrimp basket). The food was fresh and tasty. The chips especially are wonderfully thin, crispy, and flavorful. Definitely made the trip a worthwhile adventure!

This was my 2nd time eating here, once for lunch and had the fried shrimp basket and a couple of drinks. Really good lunch. The 2nd time I went at dinner time on the Friday before New Year's and got there about 5 knowing it would probably be busy and it was. The wait was 45 minutes which was ok and expected. Ordered a ginger ale at the bar which was $3.50. That seems like a lot but I'm not sure. The bar itself is an old wooden bar that is massive and beautiful. The menu had ample choices but I opted for the Lure salad which was very good but it would have been nice if it came with warm bread. It did, however, come with a small dish with a cheddar cheese spread and some type of white spread served with a basket of breadsticks. I happen to enjoy those and eat way too many. I like getting some type of relish tray, it's just a typical supper club offering. Service was good and we were seated by the window overlooking the lake. Although it was dark the view was really nice. Overall, I would recommend it just be prepared to wait on a weekend.

First-time customer. The place has a beautiful view of the lake.We wentbat lunch time in a Saturday. We did not wait long for our food, but a little longer for drinks and refills. We were a bit shocked that tap drinks were $7. It's a bit pricey compared to other establishments in the Northwoods. We were going for my birthday and heard they had good steak. Unfortunately, steak was not on the menu unless you wanted it on a bun. So I went with it. I was not impressed with the texture of slimy fat and soggy bun in the same bite.My hubby had a chicken sandwich and loved it. He would order it again.Fries were fresh and tasty. The decor was nice and the bar was amazing architecture.Used the bathroom. It was pretty clean.. until you look at the disgusting garbage can. It's one of those you have to push the lid in to drop your garbage. I just washed my hands!

So happy to see The Boat House is still in business and doing well. I have wonderful memories of this establishment when my riding buddy and I spent an evening here when traveling on our motorcycles after attending the ? anniversary in Milwaukee for Harley-Davidson. Today I found in my vest pocket a matchbook that brought back a flood of memories. I’ll definitely return if ever I get back to Wisconsin from my home here in Northern California.
